Is CS5 worth the upgrade?

Do tell.......

Well it depends on what you are upgrading from.

No, it won't help to make better looking work ;)

If you have the hardware to take advantage of the 64 bit, and vid card processing... fuck yes a million times over. If you are running an older/slower 32 bit setup with typical low end vid cards/on board graphics, don't bother.

czarina 08-29-2010 02:11 PM

yes, it is. Great version!

NaughtyRob 08-29-2010 02:40 PM

I have CS4 and CS5 both on my Macbook Pro and find myself using CS4 more. Not a mega difference.

cs5 definitely is a photographers edition. So if you have a descent 64-bit machine go for it. It has a lot improvement in the retouching tools !

CYF 08-29-2010 07:05 PM

I'm still using CS3.

not really, a few more bells and whistles however the same data base issues as cs4

fris 08-29-2010 07:55 PM

cs5 media encoder is way better, plus photoshop 64 bit

I didn't realize this was about Adobe CS5 until halfway through the thread, I thought it was CSS5, I was gonna say "uhhh, CSS3 isn't even ready yet" :(

bronco67 08-29-2010 08:39 PM

I use After Effects CS5, and I feel it was well worth the upgrade. The speed boost from 64bit and new content aware fill tools save me plenty of time.

Same here.
I have the CS5 kit somewhere on my disks but just didn't had the time to install it :1orglaugh

RadicalSights 08-30-2010 07:01 AM

No it isn't.

I have CS5 extended... CS3 extended.... and 7.0...

I use 7.0 the most because it's bug free and lag free and does 95% of anything you need to do. All the others I just use when I need to do something very specific that isn't supported.

CurrentlySober 08-30-2010 07:01 AM

I went from CS2 on PC to CS5 when I went mac.

Big difference, dont know if I really needed all the extra bells and whistles, (Or if I will even use them) and I dont like DW as much, but PS is great :)
