If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise...

Did you watch it? Man it's disgusting what has gone on down there in New Orleans. It's a movie on HBO that everyone should watch and be thankful for what you have.

I haven't watched it, but I did see a story on CNN yesterday about a guy who lost his house with the levy broke and it has been rebuilt, but he doesn't know if he trusts the levy.

Here is what I don't understand. The levy broke and flooded an entire area. We saw what will happen when that kind of thing happens. Why the fuck are we rebuilding in the same place? It is like those people who live on the banks for rivers, get flooded out then rebuild in the exact same spot.

If we were going to rebuilt this guy's house, it should have been done in an area that won't flood.

It it like the lesson was never learned

Brad Pitt built some houses and put them on stills as high as the water had risen. Kinda like the have at the shore.

Anyone that lives BELOW SEA LEVEL is a fucking idiot and deserves their house destroyed over and over.

If you're living next to water, I have to agree with this. Just because you can live somewhere, doesn't mean you should.

100% correct and just think of all the BILLIONS spent on the levees and pumps to keep out the water! There should not have been anything the flood plain rebuilt.

Sally.

Just watched it last night. I was very impressed. The conditions that exist today and the actions of the federal and local governments after Katrina is simply shocking.

I can even see if a person buys a house that is below sea level or on a flood plain and doesn't know it. They made a mistake. I can understand that.

But if a flood then destroys their house they need to learn from that mistake and move to where it doesn't flood.
