That might be true in the UK, but in the US (or in AZ as I can't speak for the rest of the country) I'd say about 1 in 400 have a degree from a university.
I ran strip clubs for 3 years and we don't get the best and brightest. A lot of them say they are working towards their degrees in whatever.
Fewer have actually taken (and completed) college classes.
Maybe a handful will make it all the way through and drop stripping forever when they graduate.Comment

You might be shocked, but several times I have witnessed strippers reading in the back room while on break. Yes they can read and choose to.
In the Vegas topless clubs, probably 1/20 have a degree. The women there view stripping as a career that can bring them a lot more money than a normal "day job" could. These educated strippers are rarely the ones downing shots on the job or flirting with the DJ/bouncers/managers. Those who fuck the manager are either new or work at top clubs where doing so increases their income $5-$10k per month. One of my best friends is currently stripping her way through med school.
1/400?!?!? In small towns very few strippers have achieved a degree but this is not the same in big cities. As the economy gets worse, more and more educated women are working on the side or even taking adult work on as their new career after being laid off.Comment

Back in 2000-2003 I was a stripper here in North Carolina. Fresh out of the US Army as an MP. I would go home with 2-3k in my hand most nights 4 days a week or more. It was some of the easiest money I have ever made. Horny guys are very easy to seduce and I loved to entertain so I enjoyed it. You have to have the right mind set to be a stripper that makes money. I didn’t drink at work and always made sure I was on the floor by 6pm and worked up until 2am. Some girls would get to the club at 11pm and get pissed at me cause I banked. Do the math, I'm working 8 hours you're working 3! Any forth grader could figure those numbers out. You have to treat it like any job and treat it like a business.Comment

I would do 7 or 8, 3-4 minute dances an hour at $70-$100 a dance on average. Some hours I would make $600-$800. Pretty easy money if you know how to really work. The club I worked at would have 200-300 on any given night though and customers would be arriving all night drunk with their friends for bachelor parties and birthday parties. It was a pretty big place and easy to make money fast. I invested 70% of the money I made for a rainy day.Comment

They have got a ridiculous target like sending 50% of people to university so it's no wonder a degree is losing value.
Add to that people going and doing degrees in stupid subjects there are no actual jobs for too. In general i've found that loads of people seem to just go to university and do a random subject, then after 3 years go looking for a job and end up doing something completely unrelated to their qualification.↑ see post ↑
