nanny cams
I need a nanny cam.
Looking for something built into an alarm clock type thing. Something that will either stream video over the internet via a wireless router, or one that stores video to a 32gb SD card, or both. I saw the perfect one for about $190 but can't find it any longer... I thought it was a D-link but I'm not having any luck. Anyone have some recommendations? |
Bump for you. Wish I knew of one to reccomend, but good on you for looking in to getting one. There's an app out there where you can stream a cam right to your smart phone. If I ever have kids I would for sure have something like that set up.

Anyone used this Linksys camera or something similar? What about the hidden clock cameras? Are those decent? Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Alarm-Clock-Ra...894131&sr=1-28 |
One of the clubs I worked at had a clock on the wall that had a camera in it located in the hallway. I KNEW that there was a camera in that hallway, I KNEW the angle but it took me like 2 weeks to figure out that it was actually inside the clock.
This isn't the exact one but it's pretty close. http://www.surveillance-spy-cameras....ref=googlebase |

If you're looking to read what's being written on a computer screen, probably won't work, but if you are worried about someone pocketing your shit or abusing your kids, you'll definitely see that. Other benefit of the wall mounted camera is that you get a wider perspective opposed to something sitting on a table. The one we had was also battery powered and wireless. Put a nail into the wall, set it up on your computer and you're done. The ones you can see on your phone are $1,000+. We had that system at the last club I worked at and it was irritating getting picture messages from the GM telling me that the camera adds 100lbs, but you could still tell who it was on the phone.:1orglaugh |

I ended up ordering a Linksys WVC80N from newegg.
I have to say, this camera completely surpassed my expectations. Low light viewing is very good, it emails me when motion is detected, and I was able to setup a "zone" where the camera would look for motion. Set the zone up high enough so the cat walking around wouldn't set it off, but someone opening the door would. I decided against the alarm clock spy cam type deals, because they didn't really have many features that I needed, and this cam fit a lot better. I also found an android app for viewing cameras, and this one can stream video. I can view the camera on my cellphone from anywhere, and that's just fucking awesome. Overall I'm really impressed with it :thumbsup |
