A convicted killer with 10 years of appeals process behind him being executed in a split second by bullets is EXACTLY the same as a girl that is killed in the street over a period of minutes of being battered slowly to death by a crowd for the crime of not marrying who her family wanted her to marry after a 1 week trial.

As I understand this, what you mean by glass houses is matching punishment to crime, not specific cases. (thus, I have no idea why you would select a convicted killer case to make your point), and if in fact that was your intended meaning, I would agree... it's accurate. Actually studies have shown that firing squads actually might be more humane than lethal injection. If they screw up the chemicals they are injecting into you (which happens more often than you want to know) it can lead to and extremely painful death.

Erm, I wasn't comparing the manner in which their sentences were carried out. My point was, while it is barbaric, so is the death sentence. Sure, you guys have evolved to using slightly more humane methods of execution but execution is still barbaric.

Correct me if I am wrong but lethal injection is not painful. They put you to sleep first, then stop your breathing, then your heart.

The intravenous injection is usually a sequence of drugs given in a set sequence, designed to first induce unconsciousness followed by death through paralysis of respiratory muscles and/or by cardiac arrest through depolarization of cardiac muscle cells. The execution of the condemned in most states involves three separate injections (in sequential order):

What difference does it make really, whether lethal injection is painful or not, or firing squad is painful or not (yes... you could take a round in the face or the nuts before you die),.... it doesn't really matter. These are the final moments of your life. You will never feel anything ever again.... I would suggest you feel as much as possible in your last minutes on this Earth. :2 cents:
