ICANN posts .xxx draft agreement for public comment
ICANN posted the .xxx draft agreement with ICM Registry today at:
http://www.icann.org/en/announcement...24aug10-en.htm for public comments. Comments can be submitted to [email protected] (they'll send you an email with a link to click, to validate your comment, as an anti-spam measure). All the comments can be seen at: http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-revised-icm-agreement/ and I was first to comment with 4 reasons to oppose the draft agreement at: http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-rev.../msg00000.html I guess the "fun" can now begin, as both sides lobby the relevant governments through the GAC (Government Advisory Committee, see http://gac.icann.org/ ) or US Department of Commerce and NTIA. |

Don't forget to visit http://dotxxxopposition.com for news and views (and a fabulous video) about why .XXX is fucked up in a not sexy fun way.
For those who can't remember DotXXXOpposition.com (like me, sometimes) you can also visit OpposeDotXXX.com. Follow us at twitter.com/opposedotxxx Please get involved and let ICANN know that we don't need Stuart Lawley controlling an sTLD at our expense both professionally and economically. -- Darklady |

If there are no price caps, it means they can charge anything, and also change the price for renewals. So, if you started to get a lot of traffic and make a lot of money on yourbrandnewdomain.xxx, they could demand more money for the renewal. |

i would suspect that this is where the adult industry peters out. not half of the people who posted comments before will do it again. stuart will use that as support of the sponsored community and win this last round, thus approving .xxx
i see no one making this comment period a priority. we know that xbiz won't, but avn should be taking this to the front cover of their magazine. every program should be mailing this to their affiliates. everyone should be double and triple starting new threads for awareness. people need to pick the ball up and run. if icann does not see some strong opposition in these comments this time around, lawley will win. |

I am working on flyer's exposing the scum behind .xxx at this moment and will be placing them on autos at as many churches as I can in phoenix this weekend and I will be hitting shopping centers...anything to get parents attention that now their kids will get all the free porn they want. You can bet I will be mentioning the names involved with trying to push this through, you and I know who they are and they do to. |
everyone who sees this thread should repost the call for people to go and make comments on the icann site against this.
|
Guys, this is really important ! Do as GoergeK said. This could mean serious trouble for us.
The last thing we want is a ghetto |

Would be nice to see this thread or the other one as a sticky on top.....:2 cents: Fight the scum trying to sell us out for the sake of greed :thumbsup |
Back to the top she goes....get your comments in ;)

Since there are two active threads on this issue, it's probably best to keep only one of them active. Don't post here, but post instead at:
fucking-around-and-business-discussion/983915-icann-publishes-draft-agreement-xxx-fsc-comments.html (sorry for the bump!) (or perhaps a moderator could simply merge the two threads?) |
