Shocking 24% of Americans actually believe Obama is Muslim

Top story on DrudgeReport

At least Vendzilla and cambaby aren't alone in their idiocy. :1orglaugh

"Nearly one third of the country thinks adherents of Islam should be barred from running for President ? slightly higher than the 24% who mistakenly believe that the current occupant of the Oval Office is himself a Muslim."

people will believe what ever their televisions tell them...

Jman 08-19-2010 07:31 AM

Not surprised, shitload of people believe 9-11 was an inside job.

gleem 08-19-2010 07:34 AM

just cause he has a muslim heritage, a muslim name, and bows to the Arab leaders, doesn't mean he's muslim! WTF is wrong with people! And if he is, so what, join them or die! P.S. that was sarcasm, but it's not hard to understand how people would make that jump in logic.

Relentless 08-19-2010 07:42 AM

Bush's approval rating never fell below 24%...
It's likely the same people.

25% of the country is on the 'red team'
25% of the country is on the 'blue team'
40% of the country is completely fed-up and disinterested
10% of the country decides everything. :2 cents:

spazlabz 08-19-2010 07:47 AM

I recently found out that my mother in law believes Obama is a Muslim, she is also a birther completely convinced he was actually born in Kenya.....my wife is quite humiliated by her mother's views

here is the rub, my mother in law has detested Republicans for well over the 20+ years I have known her

Brujah 08-19-2010 07:48 AM

Sure, to be fair...

About 62% of Americans believe in "the devil" or Satan, and hell.
Only 42% believe in the theory of evolution
31% believe in witches

55% mistakenly believe the founding fathers wrote Christianity into the constitution

half believe teachers should be allowed to use the Bible as factual text in history class

24% can't name the country we fought in the American Revolutionary war

18% think the sun revolves around the Earth

I agree with you about idiocy of the masses. In the last election, alot of voters believed Obama was a good choice for President.

I don't fault people for not being able to predict the future. Many of our recent elections have been more about who is probably the lesser of two evils, rather than which one is a good choice.

Ironic insult coming from one of the select few who believes Obama is a good and competent president and that everything is Bush's fault. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

You pick and choose. You ignore Palin's recent pentecostal background with faith-healing, speaking in tongues, and the congregation being told the Jews were killed by terrorists because they hadn't embraced Christianity. Or another that said if they voted for Kerry, they wouldn't go to heaven. :1orglaugh

At least admit that you have someone feeding you information that you already want to believe anyway, because you don't like the President because he's a Democrat, or he's black.

IllTestYourGirls 08-19-2010 08:28 AM

I dont believe he is Muslim, because he says he isnt, and I dont think it really matters.

But do Muslims who changed their names, then denounce Islam, change their names back?

Predictable liberal defensive stance: Calling someone a racist without any logical basis, and claiming someone has information fed to him while doing the exact same thing.

Brujah, thanks for being so incredibly transparent with your stupidity.:winkwink::winkwink:

I don't think Obama is a good president. I don't think Obama is a competent president. I didn't think Bush was either.

Here's what I think. Obama is the current President. I want him to succeed. He's still got the job, so I'm giving him benefit of doubt that during his time in office he'll do some great things for America. I want America to succeed. It bothers me that people like you want America to fail because you don't like the current President. It bothers me that people like you cheer when he makes a mistake, or want to pick and choose when you want the constitution to be followed. You follow party politics and are sheep to a two-party system of political domination. :2 cents:

Do you understand what "cheering" is? No, of course not. Because we criticize Obama, you need some kind of rationalization. I could just as easily say that you "Cheered" when Bush was in office, thereby making you a hypocrite. Instead of saying, "hey, maybe Obama really is a moron", you say "you don't like Obama because you're racist!" Try looking at things objectively and from a logical standpoint, not like the other liberal morons on this forum.

There's nothing proper or logical about believing something that is proven false. You choose to believe it because you want to, and not because it is actually or factually true. It makes you ignorant for not knowing, but it makes you stupid for ignoring the fact.

Tom_PM 08-19-2010 08:43 AM

Off the rails over something so simple. He's not a muslim. Yet 24% of people think he is.
Those people are what the rest of us call: idiots. Simple as can be.

I know you are not actually calling Obama a moron in that post but I wanted to make the point that of all the things you could refer to him by moron would be the least accurate.

I am a liberal moron on this board and I can tell you that I cannot stand Obama. Just seeing him on tv makes my skin crawl. I would call him gutless, ineffectual, lacking direction and a pseudo-conservative, but definitely not a moron

DirtyDanza 08-19-2010 08:47 AM

Obama is a moron who deserves to be out of there by any means needed....

he IS a muslim if you don't think that then you my friends are the idiots ....

2 things ...

show me his birth cert ... fuck it's easier to get a birth cert from an illlegal than it is our fucking pres...

2nd.. if you voted for obama you deserve to be shot on the spot ... just for being an idiot and voting for a muslim....

Well, I would be calling him a moron for the most accurate reasons, none which have to do with him being allegedly Muslim.

Weird, reading all your posts over the last year, I could have SWORN you were more right than left.

I was in Cairo few days back. Our driver explained that Obama visited few mosques while being there. My first thought was, sure, that's normal, he is a muslim. Is he not one?

Obama is a HUGE moron...

he is good at one thing and one thing only

campaigning ...

he campaings everytime he is on tv... he is such a moron he has no idea he won and can acutually do shit now...

I mean seriously ... someone needs to do something to get rid of him... who ever does that will go down in history as a USA hero....

obama will go down in history as the worst president ever....

quick people need to start posting the videos of his fellow morons who voted for him...

like the idiot black lady saying she won't have to pay her mortage or insurance anymore now that obama is in...

then post the video of the idiots who were asked (after they voted for obama) what they thought of his running mate Sarah Palin ... they all answered "oh she is good I like her"

so remember ladies and germs ... those are the idiots that voted him into office...

You might have forgot a couple

54% voted for Obama
46% voted for McCain

Sly 08-19-2010 09:09 AM

Maybe Obama is a genius.

Instead of talking about the recent Afghanistan news, Pakistan, Iraq, economy, the recent unemployment surge, the recent housing news... the country is talking about a mosque that doesn't even have the funding or the political capital to get built, whether or not Obama is Muslim, and the relationship between Freedom of Religion and community decency.

Bush had already ordered those troops being brought home, LOL. Obama is following protocol, which is standard.

Whites vote within their race as well, people call that racist. You are saying no?

So it is racism. And Obama brought the troops home on the plans Bush laid out.

Not in that regard. And lets not confuse the ability to be articulate with overall intelligence. Clinton showed that he was intelligent. Obama showed that he can talk.

I really don't think that what Palin is doing is any concern of mine, she has more power in getting people elected than Barry does, but that's about it, she's not in office, it's the press that needs someone to attack and strike fear in the liberals and they need to attack her and by your post, I'd say you're drinking the kool-aid.

I base what I think about Barry by his actions, to say I'm against him because he's a democrat or he's black is insulting, but people that seem to back Barry in his agenda are left with only that course, they surely can't back him on his agenda

Hahaha, his Mom did not adopt him, he's step dad did though. Which is very normal. While he was overseas he did attend a Muslim school and a Christian school - as a kid. In the Muslim school he was listed as Muslim, in the Christian school he was listed as Christian. Shocking I know. As a Kid, he celebrated Xmas and Christian holidays, but his mom did let him experience a vast range of other religious experiences/holidays.

Anyway.. I actually like that he is well rounded in religion, it's not just Muslim/Christianity that he has studied. I hope that he isn't religious at all, that he thinks more like his Mom does but he just wont say it. However, if he does follow a faith - I don't care at all what it is - they all suck the life out of the Country.

I honestly think your reasons are because he's black, or because he's a Democrat. My reason for believing this is based on your posts. Not your posts on Obama policies, but your posts on things like his birth certificate, whether he is christian or muslim, the flurry of negative topics, the mosque issue that he isn't responsible for in the first place, and others.

Brujah 08-19-2010 10:04 AM

Yet another headline with a liberal bias from Drudge. I don't know why he posts this crap.

Quote:

The White House says Mr. Obama prays daily, sometimes in person or over the telephone with a small circle of Christian pastors. One of them, the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell, who was also a spiritual adviser to former President George W. Bush, telephoned a reporter on Wednesday, at the White House’s behest. He said he was surprised that the number of Americans who say Mr. Obama is Muslim is growing.

“I must say,” Mr. Caldwell said, “never in the history of modern-day presidential politics has a president confessed his faith in the Lord, and folks basically call him a liar.”
