Geico. Not because I did any in depth comparison, they just battered me down with all the ads, I went online and bought insurance . This year I really should check rates a few places.

CYF 08-18-2010 09:39 PM

Call your independent insurance agent. Most of 'em represent 10-20 different companies and can find you a great deal. My agent shops out my policy once a year and makes sure I'm getting the best deal.

I had to switch a few years back and had checked a bunch of co's and Progressive wound up being the cheapest for me by far.

Rochard 08-18-2010 09:58 PM

Progressive.

We've never had a claim, but they were the cheapest. When our truck broke down last year they gave us a free tow - and helped us find a tow company. I thought that was cool being as we weren't even sure where we were at the time.

Geico, was really the best price for the best coverage at the time I bought my car. I have been happy with them ever since

State Farm keeps raising rates. I may switch to Geico.

camperjohn64 08-19-2010 08:41 AM

I switched to Geico, but will switch back to State Farm. Even though they have slightly higher rates, State Farm NEVER even questioned when I had a claim. It was simply "Ok, you've had an accident, your fault or not, here is money". I have had 3 claims in the last 11 years - two were me fault.

I had an accident while at Gieco, and I really felt they were giving me the run around before giving in. I don't need that crap.

TidalWave 08-19-2010 10:05 AM

Geico for 7 years

I fucking hate State Farm their systems are so out of date, and having to call some local twerp. who has limited business hours and may be busy with other people is lame as hell.

Everytime I call Geico, I reach someone immediately. That person has always been able to help me immediately.

What more do I need? Good rates, good support, why bother fucking around and leaving?

Geico.....I hate them but they are the cheapest for me!

Joshua G 08-19-2010 01:37 PM

Geico is great...until you get into an accident. Then they cancel your policy.

GigoloJustin 08-19-2010 01:46 PM

Farmers and they are awesome. Some chick totaled my H2 and did 15k worth of damage, and 4k damage to a telephone pole.. they fixed it all without any problems.

$500.00 deductible.

If your based in CA and youve got a clean driving record, definitely look into:

Wawanesa.com

You will be surprised how much $$$ you will save, without skimping on coverage.
I pay half of what other carriers typically charge.
