guy + Mini Cooper = gay?
 

I was thinking about buying a Cooper for my next car, I like small, quick, nimble cars.
But so far 2 different people that I mentioned it to said that they are extremely gay. :Oh crap

huh? I never heard that one before.

Well I don't want to be giving the wrong signals so I thought I would ask the gayness experts here on GFY before I made up my mind. :winkwink:

buddy of mine owns it, the m3, and carrera and swears that the mini is the best car he has owned

its fun, i admit it the couple times i've been in it

It was really only a half-serious question, I'm just trying to figure out why two different people would ask me why I wanted to buy such a gay car :disgust

We had a hardtop Mini Cooper and a convertible Cooper S.

Right now, I want another S model, with the hard top.

Perhaps this will convince you that Mini Cooper's can be badass (assuming you haven't seen The Italian Job, in which case you should know that already):

It's a dainty car IMO...if want to be associated with dainty then by all means. Surely some chicks think it looks cute and might not think you're gay. Just make sure to have a little dog with you too but still talk in a deep voice and at least not dress completely gay, and they might just think you're a sensitive guy. :thumbsup

I have a CooperS and it's a fun car to drive recklessly.. If I screw up on the track,it's cheaper to fix than my other cars.

Yeah I'm looking at the S, they are surprisingly inexpensive given their performance specs

I did see the Italian Job, and I'd seen that video before too, I have to admit a big part of the attraction is the speed and maneuverability, I miss the fun of driving, you don't get that from a Honda Accord :thumbsup

I did find out a few worrisome things about them,
not the most reliable car on the road, not terribly bad just not terribly good either.
high service costs
no spare tire

I once drove one of the older Miatas for a week and I liked it, fun little roadster,
but to be perfectly honest I always did think that a dude driving one of those new Beetles seemed a little gay.*
