Curious why it was deleted, not locked/closed or kept open.

Maybe a mod can comment why a thread asking questions about a program that disappeared with a load of peoples money would get the benefit over a trusted webmaster who got taken?

The whole thing of not paying people what is due them is out of hand, if you know what I mean.

Maybe threats of a lawsuit got him worried, who knows.

I know Eric doesn't want personal info posted, but if ever there was a time to allow it, it should be now. Sobv's failure to make any affiliate payments on all of their sites stands to be the biggest scam we've seen yet in adult affiliate programs. At least let the scammed affiliates interchange important info on who's behind Sobv and who to target legal action against.

Yeah kingpin has been quiet, I wonder if he got paid off, makes you think. If thats true, thats bullshit as I know me and a few people are owed 10k+

If he has ... then that illustrates again that often the squeaky wheel gets the grease, as in paid.

When programs run short of cash and/or closing down, most will never get paid while some will get paid for one or more of the following reasons:

* They're a "bro" and/or have other inside connections to the program.

* Program is winding down, but still active - so selectively paying^ those who are most vocal to string out all the others waiting on payment. This is a very common tactic. ^ (often not in full - usually with promise of further payment later, if they keep quiet / keep sending traffic)

* Those who have potentially damaging information on the operators of the program. Rare, but it happens.

* Those who are perceived as imminently dangerous by the program operators - this is extremely rare as in nearly never happens ... most people talk tough, but rare is the one who actually shows up to collect using "loan shark" break-the-knee-caps tactics.

Digressed a bit, but point is that few will ever collect what's owed.

Hence, affiliate webmasters need to factor not getting paid into their business model; be prepared to switch traffic at the first signs of trouble / diversify.

As far as karma ... while it's nice to believe things even out, the reality is many times they don't. Many scammers get rich (not talking just in adult, but in mainstream as well) and live the high life while those scammed have to work doubly hard to recover their losses.

I think intimidation is more likely than payment.

I think this could be the case, but this does not stop everyone from outing "JJ" the scum bag for ripping off affiliates. I doubt he will have anyone to conduct business with when this is all said and done :2 cents:

It makes no difference. One of his partners will step in after the next round of office musical chairs, or a proxy will be hired to front the whole thing for the next round.

And all of you will jump on the bandwagon.

And one or two people will notice similar IP ranges, domains registered by known scammers, strange billing practices etc.

But webmasters will be getting paid for awhile cause thats how you do a Ponzi scheme for the first couple rounds.

SOBV will still make their money and in the end everybody will get screwed AGAIN.

I would tend to agree with you! I think we have seen this happen over and over again and the sheep just open the gate to give the scammer?s one more chance to fuck them or anyone else over.

It would be nice, for once, to see everyone ban together and rid the industry of the crooks that they thought was their so called "Bro" who ended up fucking them over.

I learned long ago to trust "no one", and that will never change.
