Dynamic FAQ Section w/ jQuery, YQL & Google Docs

Very handy FAQ script that uses Google Docs to edit the FAQ, handy if you're working with a support team and have no CMS for it.

Thought I would share

Kind of cool, but as with most developers, they forgot to address how it degrades. Turn off java and the whole page disappears.

That's also mentioned on the page:

You can use the same technique to power different kinds of dynamic pages. However, this implementation does have its shortcomings. All the content is generated with JavaScript, which means that it will not be visible to search engines.

To guarantee that your data will be crawled, you can take a different route. You could use PHP, or other back-end language, to fetch and display the data from YQL in a fixed interval of time ? say 30 minutes (or even less frequently, if you don?t plan to update the data often).
So letting a php file fetch it and include it in your page fixes that issue easily :thumbsup

I totally agree, I just finished my first jQuery coding experience and was amazed at the flexibility of it and more important, the lightweight code.

it looks cool, but for seo purposes you want as much unique text on the page as you can get.
