I've tried but with no good result. All my preorders appeared to have competitors and will go through the auction process. I wait for the refunds now which is $290 per name. I've lost $10 per name for application fees.

got screwed... i think its pretty fucked up that registrars will check in on what people are searching for and snag them up right when it opens.
