californian + floridian cultivars - Lady of the Night

I'm neither, but if you're from a hot climate where winter temps don't drop too much, then check out this lady

I had a friend go on about this 4 years ago, but only had the pleasure to experience it last summer in Spain - I took several cuttings and planted them when I got back and it's taken like hell. I've 10 flower buds on it and the smell, come 9pm+, is absolutely heavenly

I recommend this plant (Cestrum nocturnum aka Lady of the Night aka Galant de nuit) to anyone who has hot summers and mild winters....

:thumbsup:thumbsup

We have several white star jasmine outside our bedroom window. When they are in full bloom we just leave our windows open and let the summer breeze bring in their scent.

It is possible that people eat and smoke plants on earth.
I don't recommend smoking or eating weeds.

i've backtraced you and the authorities have been notified...

i dont know how you changed the leaves to look like a normal plant, but the consequences will never be the same.... :2 cents:

this is what I don't get about this plant - it's flowers *only* open when the sun goes down and it's at its most perfumed when it's dark. So what insects pollinate it at night???

It's scent is really quite hypnotic - much better than a regular jasmine (that is also great)

I just came back to post that!! I've *never* seen a moth pollinate a flower, but just saw one do it like a bee - hover and go from flower to flower. I really never knew moths did that :thumbsup
