buddy of mine totally digs "inception" - can you recommend me some more?

..i need to buy a b-day present (thought of 4 to 5 dvd's) for an old buddy of mine - he was totally freaked out by "inception".. are there any movies out there that would fall in this category and are worth watching? ..only thing i have is "memento" which is also from director Nolan - you got any ideas?

pradaboy 08-11-2010 05:57 PM

Shutter Island.

that's actually quite a good idea - thanks!

Memento, same director I believe. One of the best movies made. Shutter Island is a copy of A Beautiful Mind which is in my opinion, better.

Adam_M 08-11-2010 06:25 PM

Harry Brown is a great movie!

A Beautiful Mind is also a good idea.. i don't know whether he already saw it.. but i'll add that one to my list - and i have to agree with you, memento is really one of the best movies ever.

Fight Club is a mind fuck as well, but a bit different.

fight club is one of *my* all time favourites - i'm pretty sure my buddy saw it as well, but i could add it to the "bday package", perhaps some special edition kind of thing.

edit:
cool thing, i just realized that there's some kind of easter-egg in the 2-disc "memento" version: you can watch the movie in chronological order - neat!

Memento and Shutter Island were good. Memento is by the same director as Inception.

I don't know if you want to stick to current films but try Dark City. Came out in 1998 and stars Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland, and Jennifer Connelly.

i don't know why the fuck "primer"'s so expensive over here (40 euros) but the line "donnie darko for grownups" just made me press the "buy now" button. :1orglaugh

The Sound Of Music...

Hentaikid 08-12-2010 05:57 AM

Animated try Waking Life and Paprika, from what I hear Inception is pretty much a rip off of Paprika...
