Just saw this on CNN and thought it was interesting. I knew the number was high, but I had no idea it was this big. 1 out of ever 12 babies born in the us has at least one parent that is in the us without documentation. So basically, 340K of the 4.8 million babies born in the US in 2008 were born to illegal immigrants and those kids are now US citizens. I would like to see what percentage of them receive some kind of government aid. My guess is that it would be pretty high.
Another interesting thing from this article is that a Pew Research poll shows 56% of Americans are opposed to changing the Constitution so that people can't just sneak across the border and have anchor babies. I would have thought it would have been the other way around.
