Best server stats - please recommend
I am looking for a new server stats program. I currently have Analog 3.31. I've been thinking about upgrading to 5.30, but first I wanted to get opinions from my fellowe webmasters. Which stats program do you use? What are it's best features? Does anyone use Analog 5+? Do you like it?
Thanks, SpaceAce |

I am interested in this as well |
I'm also looking for a more in depth web stats program!:thumbsup

What kind of stats do you need? Do you want graphs? Geographical info? Refferer info?
Off hand, sextracker seems to have the best stats, awstats.com has good stats...and a lot of people use webalizer. |
We use AWStats for all our clients stats. I think it is one of the best in the Open Source market. There are better ones but they will cost you

www.urchin.com is the best I ever seen but rather expensive :(

I would agree Urchin is the way to go :thumbsup

If pretty 'lil graphics matter to you, get Urchin. If you just want your stats and no BS, use Analog. If you want pretty analog, their is a program out there that will present it with nice graphics. Urchin is a girlie stats program, Analog is a man's stats program. :thumbsup |
i use urchin as well - running over 3 million uniques a day.

I have been trough several servers with different stats.
To me, the ideal stats would be what Nat-net uses, including the AWStats, IF they could store a reasoneble archive (last year or so). It´s the only one I know which register googlebot´s visits. Too bad they save only today´s and yesterday´s data. Again as an user, out of the real options available, I think the best is the webalizer version that Prohosters has implemented since last month. |
Webalizer is free. Urchin is the nicest looks-wise.

I use livestats from http://www.deepmetrix.com/livestats
It´s the best stats package I have ever come across. It has 1 disadvantage it´s only available for windows but I have overcome that problem as I save serverlogs on a seperate disk and have the 1 dedicated win box for the stats server which access the logfile disk through samba. Works like a charm DynaMite :thumbsup |
Wusage - I love the list of possible hotlinked stuff and the breakdown of SE terms by SE server. Not free but one of the best I've tried recently and I went through a few of them

b.t.w livestats can:
It uses very compact format for saving historical stats. It can read stats from multiple logfiles (Clusters) it supports several types of logfile formats and is low on using resources And it looks better and has more useful info than urchin :winkwink: DynaMite :2 cents: |
urchin's also nice because it works very well with domains run over multiple servers and load balancers...
