Something is worth what you can sell it for and it really depends what you asked for as to whether you got what was described.

Well, lets see :

+ 5 mins spent to apply for banner job
+ 5 mins to read email about the job
+ 5 mins downloading the content for the job
+ 5 mins starting up photoshop CS4 :1orglaugh
+ 5 mins making the banner
+ 5 minutes making email to send you the banner

So 30 mins altogether at the rate of $14 per hour.

Based on that scenario you got exactly what you paid for.

Those look strangely like mine when I first taught myself Photoshop. Back when we had to stuff newspapers in our shoes to keep our feet warm and walk 5 miles a day to shool (up hill).:upsidedow

I would say they are worth $7 if the images were retouched, but then... you loose details on GIF palette and/or dithering.
It really depends: for example did he have to search for images on your site , or was he given image package to use? It all ads to price as sortie mentioned.

For this exact reason I always suggest my customers to test with smaller order first, then we can do a big gig. This way it's better for both sides.

With so many 3rd worlders now doing banners though not surprised webmasters think $7 is much to pay for a banner. All of the great designers i know have moved on from adult because its just not worth their time to design for these prices. You get what you pay for and $7 is fuck all to pay for any design work.

What you need to ask yourself is:

1) Will they work for your intended purpose?

2) Could you make more than $7 in the time it would take you to do them yourself?
