Do you have a mission/vision statement for your business?

If so, care to share? If not, do you think it matters? What impact do you think it has on your business, your goals, and your ability to concentrate on the long term?

i sometimes have visions after too much alcohol

but i always wondered if anyone takes these things seriously or if they are just empty words on a piece of plastic nailed to the wall.

If you have enough time to come up with mission statements and aren't in some backwards UK sub-country, you're too top heavy and need to fire people who do nothing but make dumb-assed mission statements when you could be making money instead.

What kind of difference do you see between a team that takes their mission/vision seriously versus those that just see it as words on a piece of plastic?

My plan is to grow wealth with minimal debt or no debt.
Retained earnings are invested for a good rate of return.

i used to work in a german wholesale company that got bought by an american company. one of the first things they did was nailling a plastic plate with the mission statement to the wall. no one of the bosses ever got all employees together and explained what this means and tried to explain the spirit behind it. so it remained a piece of plastic.
