How many of you own an iPad?

No, I have an ipod touch that I never use.

I don't have one but want one.

As a photographer it would come in real handy to show someone my pictures or video. Large enough for a few people to watch at once but small enough to fit in my camera bag.

Dammit! Now I really want one.

Send me a 3G ipad and you can have my sig for a year :winkwink:

I have one. The kids steal it all the time. I like it for reading.

Also really good for light email and web surfing round the house.

Its definitely good showing family pics to relatives etc. when you travel.

I have one and love it! It goes everywhere around my place so I don't have to take my laptop with me.

I'm holding out for an Android Pad. Maybe someone will port Android onto an iPad.

looks like a fun toy for a week, but that's about it...

iPhone, love it, it's a god send. Not too sure about the iPad yet.

i dont even plan to have it in 2 years, so if it lasts that long - its all good.

whats awesome about it, is that you can use it basically anywhere and not stand out as much as if you had a laptop or even a netbook.
i even saw a girl using it while standing in line at the DMV a few weeks ago! I didn't have mine yet then and it looked pretty cool to surf the web (she was playing games) while waiting at the damn DMV.

Got one for the wife. She doubted its usefulness (in the same way that some in this thread have) and decided to stick with her laptop.

I ended up using the iPad and very quickly abandoned my laptop once I found that I can control any of my servers or desktops with it (Logmein or TeamViewer) and that I can transfer files to it through Dropbox. The app store did the rest.

I love my iPad. Truly.

She ended up using it several times over the past few weeks and now is asking for it more and more. She hasn't mustered up the courage yet to ask, but I know she wants one.

I don't usually fall for any of apple's shit, but after fucking around with one for a few minutes I was pretty impressed.

When I first got my iphone I was really impressed and sung the praises of it. Less than 2 years later I think the app store is overrated and shouldn't be a selling point to anyone. I imagine that's where most ipad people are at, the initial thrill. I will say that something of that ilk I'm interested in, but not a larger version of what I already have.

I purchased it right after it was launched but didn't like that much, it could be better with some other OS.

I won't recommend to anyone unless he is sure he needs it.

PS. But I am buying that 3G shit again lol

nope, not yet, but the price difference between the wifi and wifi+3g was like 80 or 90 bucks, and the wifi only model was sold out, so i figure if i want it later it would come in handy.

No iPhone, no iPad. Going to stay that way too.

- it's too heavy to use as an ebook reader
- you need itunes to start using it and I refuse to install that piece of shit on any of my computers)

i got the 64gb one with tons of movies on it. I can't live without it now. I also have logmein on it so i can login to my server with it.

My friend dropped his ipad the other day, completely fucking destroyed it... you would have to be an idiot to own one of those things.

It's my ebook and news reader and I love it. In fact I'm on it now :)

i got one for my birthday. pretty cool, but probably something that I would of not shelled $800 out for.
