Bret Farve is retiring

Once again he kept the Vikings hanging. Why wait until after training camp starts to do that shit. I hope he stays retired this time.

It's training camp time.......of course he's going to retire......then un-retire after Brad Childress makes another trip to Hattisburg with an impassioned plea for his return.

I just don't understand his constant quest for people to swoon over him. He was a god here in Wisconsin, but that wasn't good enough.

This constant retirement crap is just weird. You almost think he has some kind of mental illness cuz his actions are just plain bizarre at times.

Amputate Your Head 08-03-2010 08:18 AM

I had the utmost respect for Favre in his Green Bay days, but all this waffling over the last years makes him look like a wishy-washy attention whore.

idtapdat 08-03-2010 08:19 AM

yup just til training camp is over usual routine

cykoe6 08-03-2010 08:29 AM

If this is true then he has really fucked the Vikings. He gave them no chance to address their QB situation at all. If they knew he was going to retire they would have McNabb right now and still be a Super Bowl contender.

amateurbfs 08-03-2010 08:33 AM

Glad the Packers finally told him to fuck off. Favre turned his legacy into a crying bitch fest. Lost all respect for the guy!

Helix 08-03-2010 08:42 AM

How many times has he retired now? I lost track.

This is the 3rd time.

CDSmith 08-03-2010 09:15 AM

3rd time's a charm?

He had a hell of a year last year, maybe he's thinking this will finally cash his career in on at least somewhat of a high note (for a change).

Sayonara Gunslinger. Unless of course he changes his mind. Again.

Caligari 08-03-2010 10:20 AM

yep Vikes are in a tricky position now without a QB. can't really fault Favre tho, his ankle is all fucked up and after the hurtin the saints put on him last game i am sure his memory is serving him well right now.

hope the Vikes get someone in there cuz they really need a QB.

Kinda too late for that now. They could have gone after McNabb, Jason Campbell or even a drafted a good one. Now its up to Sage & Tarvaris. :Oh crap

The Demon 08-03-2010 10:34 AM

I love him as a player but he changes his mind more than a pregnant woman and it's really annoying. I don't think he's stupid enough to retire after his greatest season where he was a shitty pass away from a superbowl and most likely a title since it was apparent that the Vikings were the best team in the post season.

jerryb 08-03-2010 11:10 AM

Amazing ... your title spelled his last name like everyone pronounces it ... f a r v e

His last name is 'fav re' should be pronounced like favor.

Scott McD 08-03-2010 02:31 PM

He should have retired after his role in "There's Something About Mary"...

unkn0wn 08-03-2010 02:32 PM

As a Packers fan all I can say is good luck with the "reitre" game Vikings!

His name is of French descent, and in French the same rules of grammatical physics don't apply as they do in Engrish.

Favre is pronounced "Farve". And with the assload of money he's been paid in the past 2 years alone I doubt he's stavring, or will be anytime soon.

With the money Favre has banked, he can call himself Tinkerbell if he wants.

J. Falcon 08-18-2010 12:08 PM

He is back in practice, lol.

Imortyl Pussycat 08-18-2010 12:20 PM

i've crushed on him forever. hope he retires before he ruins his body though, how much fun can retirement be if you're in a wheelchair? he's been in it so long i'm sure he is pretty much fucked physically when he gets much older anyways.

DateDoc 08-18-2010 12:25 PM

You have to question whether he is in it for the money or because he wants to plat as several team members had to fly down to see him to ask him to come back to the team.

Caligari 08-18-2010 12:30 PM

vikings just let out a huge sigh of relief on that one cuz without the favrester they be fucked. actually they have a really good team but they have been shafted for seasons by crappy qb's. favre is one of the best playing so they will probably go far this season.

i cannot wait to watch the first reg season game....vikes vs saints!

BFT3K 08-18-2010 12:41 PM

He says he will be retiring again next year as well.

Scheduled to make $13 million, Vikes offered him an extra $3 million to push it to $16 million. He can earn up to $20 million through incentives.
