who are your favorite actors/actresses? (and recommend movies)

who are your favorite actors/actresses from the 90s to now? I was having this discussion with some friends yesterday and I came with this Top 5 list more or less in that order:

Benicio del Toro

with Jeremy Irons and John Turturro very close

Actresses (in no particular order):

Lili Taylor
Gina Gershon

OK, I'll add some movies as I wait for some input, lol

Ghost Dogg
I saw it again last week, fucking amazing. If you like it, you might want to see another by the same director (Jim Jarmush): Dead Man. It's a very strange movie, the kind that if I knew before hand what it was about I'd never watch. Happily, I did it. It has a lot of resemblances to Ghost Dogg, only that this one is long, black and white, probably no more than 500 words through the whole movie and Neil Young plays the guitar throughout the whole movie, always the same pattern with some variations. And the result is amazing.

Repo Men
Saw it a couple days ago, very good if you like action movies with a twist

Pride and Glory
Rented it 2 days ago, very nice movie. And it has Edward Norton. btw, just in case you didn't watch them, you must see American History X, The Illusionist and The Score

Tom Cruise in Collateral. In anything else, I can't really handle him, but he fuckin' stole Collateral with his performance.

:thumbsup

Arnold Swarzewhat in Kindergarten Cop. Amazing piece of film making.

:1orglaugh

you might want to watch REPO - The Genetic Opera.
Its the same movie basically as Repo Men, but a rock musical...weird and amusing and gory.

and i would most highly reccommend RepoMAN by Alex Cox...one of the greats.

That's the reason why I don't have any friends... so I don't get involved in such pointless discussions.

Samuel L. Jackson.

Some of his better ones, off top of my head:

- Pulp Fiction
- Unthinkable
- Black Snake Moan
- Sphere
- A Time to Kill
- One Eight Seven

Great choices! Add Anthony Hopkins and Kevin Spacey (have you seen "The Usual Suspects"? Friggin' great!) and you've got an even better list!
