My favorite sushi bar bestowed great honor upon me (pics)
 

I have introduced several GFYer's to my favorite sushi spot, Gu Gu Sushi and Roll in Hermosa Beach.

I went in yesterday and discovered they had created a new roll, called the baddog roll. It is made with cream cheese, deep fried shrimp, avocado and cucumber topped with smoked salmon, capers and white onion. I am not being biased when I say it is delicious!

If anyone is in the Hermosa Beach area and wants to try it out some time, I would be glad to introduce you to the best sushi this side of the Pacific Ocean.

Not a sushi fan, soemthign about eating raw fish just dont work for me :(

I have taken a couple people (xxxjay, for example) here that told me [as we were walking in the door] that they do not really like sushi.

The first comment after trying it has always been, "that did not taste like sushi."

Besides, the baddog roll is topped with smoked salmon and the only other fish is deep fried shrimp. So no raw fish there.

Kamikaze roll - Asparagus and spicy tuna topped with albacore. Very tasty.

This place has close to 200 rolls, of which I have probably had about 100 of them (have actually decided to go thru the list from A to Z to make sure I don't miss any) and this was one of the best, if not the best they have.

That place is awesome!

They have a ton of specialty rolls that you might consider "busy" at first glance, but the way they mix the flavors it is more like eating treats than cat scraps.

Never ever fancied the raw fish part of sushi but something cooked sounds appealing :)

Sounds tasty and it's nice having something named after you, but that is the sloppiest looking sushi I've ever seen.
