Whats a good way to get hardlinks for mainstream sites?

See title. I have a few mainstream sites and I'm looking for hardlinks. Anybody know a good way to get them?

The standard way is through article site submissions but these degrade over time.

You can try:
Guest blog posts
A > B > C link swaps
Commenting on authority sites to get guest blog posts
Dramatic press releases in your niche
Posting industry leader interviews

Hit me up if you need content for these initiatives :)

I just email people who I want to trade links with, always got good results this way with good sites. Not sure about abcd trades and whatnot. But an a-b with a very reputable site doesn't hurt. I know Linkspun has a mainstream section but I have never even looked to see what is in there.

Also, look into blogger networks if you have a blog connected with your site. These CAN prove valuable if the network is large enough to have bloggers in your site's industry niche. I've had some luck recruiting people that would post my guest blog posts in addition to A > B and A > B > C link swaps. One major drawback is people join and forget it. So while some niche listings are long, many of the accounts are dormant and they are hard to contact through the network.

One more thing: find do follow forums in forums that cater to your niche. Post the link as source links when posting up discussions that mention your content. Of course, it can't be posted in an obvious way :)

You can try sites like linkworth

I like their blogpost service the best. You basically pay for a one time fee to have a review style blog posting about your site written on already established blogs

Yep. There's many services like that. Another way to get backlinks from industry-specific blogs is to pimp press releases hard. Quite a few rewrite "news" for updates.

Also, hitting up authority sites for interviews gets some courtesy backlinks as well.

Press releases mon..... the only one worth the money is PRWeb .... once u put a PR through their shit backlinks go wild

easiest way is to just buy them, few good links from decent sites will benefit you 10x more than hours you spend trading links...:2 cents:

I don't recommend it... but comment spam seems to be working just fine for everyone else. Google is getting lazy I guess.
