Wizzo 07-28-2010 08:27 AM

maybe your using the wrong sponsors... :winkwink:

GrouchyAdmin 07-28-2010 08:28 AM

What an awesome observation, and at least as much time put into the thread. Let me guess, you contacted one person on ICQ once, and they didn't get back to you. Did you just send them emoticons, too?

Phoenix 07-28-2010 08:55 AM

im not sure why Jen..it is the new trend though for sure

there are still some stellar reps to be found though.

it is hit and miss until you come across the right one...treat it as another variable

converts well?....support is good?...actually pays?

lol

sad where we are today

jaYMan 07-28-2010 08:59 AM

Maybe its because 95% of thier income come from 5% of thier affilliates and to be honest, maybe they just get sick of those where's my $20 bucks at people who take up 95% of thier time support staff and affilliate managers time???

Just an idea, I wouldn't have any experience so I'm not qualified to answer.

that would be my guess.

Ive met some pretty great affiliate managers before and some really shitty ones. like any profession when you are connected to the internet all day, anything that takes away from facebook or funny picture time you are going to get annoyed with :2 cents:

bdjerk 07-28-2010 09:02 AM

why do affiliates have such premadonna attitudes? Let's discuss.

NOT US no matter you make 20$ or 20000000000$ you will get the SAME service... Cause the 20$ could become the 2000000000$ and even than ad those 20$ and you get your 20000000000$ lol :thumbsup

No I've emailed them twice this week and sent ICQ messages. They're all hiding.

pornguy 07-28-2010 09:17 AM

Who are you trying to contact Jen. Sometimes just saying it will help.

:)

jaYMan 07-28-2010 09:18 AM

People are people, period.

Some will bend over backward for ya, some won't give you the time of day.

And then there are THOSE that use to bend over backward for ya, make it big, and then won't give ya the time of day.

Stinger, hope that works out for you, I really do. I felt that way once. Now I treat people like they treat me. Respect earns respect.

Paul from seemygf (seemybucks) is online all day everyday (it seems), and actually gets you the promo material you need.

I'd say 3 days would be ample time to check messages.

Webmasters are whining bitches.

They barley even do any work now days.. Want everything for them on a silver platter.

dirtybaker1331 07-28-2010 10:33 AM

As an affiliate manager I actually contact them myself as opposed to them contacting me. I try to give them strategies on improving their conversions. Some listen, a lot don't. The days of plastering your sites with banners is over. You can't expect to just sit there and get checks every week without putting in some extra effort. Affiliates are still just as important as ever. It is just a matter of optimizing your sites to get the most out of your traffic.

goodsites 07-28-2010 10:40 AM

I treat em like their program treats me.... Run some crap ass shit, expect to hear the shit.. want to ignore the shit... you can ignore my traffic....

I see all these affiliate managers talk to their bosses, like he don't send shit or this that... yup, why would i send it to your shitty ass program made with with worst programmers and design and tools that suck shit... too bad you did'nt run a tight ship, i could have made you

Ain't got time for the self righteous players out there that think they are in control

But the real truth to the bad support is, they are clueless and can't do shit... Most are bottom of the barrel picks to do other tasks but act as if they are support reps.. they probably are the banner makers, the actors themselves, and usually have to contact people in another location from their homes, which aint going to resolve anything, because its communication problems, and timing.. which basically means as an affiliate you're going to lose a lot of cash, and have a lot of headaches.. so its best to move on

*nods*, sorry. if you don't fit that catagory, why would you take it personally? (to those that have)

Wizzo is one of the best by far in my "limited" experience.

No it just shits me :)

I know some program owners and reps well, the stories i hear.. The stupid requests some
affiliates want. And in return they send jack shit traffic. The majority of affiliates are slack
ass bitches who think they are the bomb, sending their 1 - 2 joins a month..

Long story short, affiliates need to harden the fuck up and actually do things. This aint the 90's anymore.
hahaha Actually I think most even worked harder in the 90's.

Of course, affiliate reps need to pull their heads out of their asses and take note on what
their affiliates need to actually promote the sites and programs. But answering stupid little
shit every second of the day would become a headache and fast put you off caring.

Anyways, just my :2 cents:

Supz 07-28-2010 01:02 PM

Based on the person I would say. Some people are good at what they do, some are not. That is in every profession.

Thats a really accurate point of view jaYMan, but that doesenīt mean just donīt answer the whereīs my twenty bucks requests. As a support person I organize my request from most important to less important stuff. and also seems that most of the people that contact support forget that you probably have a hundred more requests that where sent before and sometimes they are for issues that take some time to be solved.

so my conclusion is support can be bad sometimes, but most of the time is the "client" thats impatent.

Interesting question... ask them

Varius 07-28-2010 01:35 PM

If a program only wants to spend their time with their top few affiliates, they should simply become invite-only :2 cents:

If they are public, they should reply to all affiliate inquiries in a timely fashion.

It's true, the affiliates who bug reps the most generally are the ones making the least - but sometimes, the people ignored haven't even started their traffic or are "testing the waters" and that business is lost.

Another thing is, I believe reps should be split into two groups, to focus on what they do best. Most companies do not do this.

Group 1: Sales people. They go out and aggressively hunt down affiliates, do PR, board postings, shows...

Group 2: Affiliate Support. They manage your account, are generally more technical and can help you with your issues.

Very few are the ones who do an excellent job at both...so why force the rest to? Let them do what they do best.

Varius 07-28-2010 01:37 PM

Another thought is, why don't more program implement a ticket system? It's been proven in many industries to be more efficient when it comes to supporting clients/customers/affiliates.

When I worked for Top Bucks it didn't matter which of my affiliates made the most.. Every single one of my affiliates got the help they needed when they needed it. Even the smaller affiliate may become one of your big ones so treat them all like a valuable asset. Of course, there will be some out of the batch that will waste your time, but it's always best to treat everyone respectfully.

All it takes is figuring out a way to manage your time properly so you can reply to someone as quickly as possible.

Thanks Jakez. I was affiliate from so many programs in my first years (2001 to 2006)
so I know how hard is to get some decent help.

Thatīs why we spend time to keep everybody happy with SeeMyBucks.com

:pimp

Isn't that the price of being in business? If an affiliate only sends 2-3 joins throughout their time then they don't even make ANY money because the program keeps it because of their $100 minimum. Gee I wonder how many times that happens and what % of sponsors income are from people that never reached that minimum..

If I walk into McDonalds and ask where the bathroom is they don't ignore me if I haven't bought anything yet. And that's just the customer side of things, you only make like $0.50-$15/mo from each of them!

you nailed it :thumbsup but affiliates should get a reply no matter what

it's true that the ones that are very demanding are usually the ones that dont bring any sales in...

Overload 07-28-2010 04:04 PM

odd, i have a ICQ contact for almost all the ones i promote ... and usually (if not in the gym or working out some other way) they respond in a timely manner if not instantly ... have a bottle of LOOZA man haha

HomerSimpson 07-28-2010 05:50 PM

they don't give a fuck...

I will answer your emails and icqs :-)

There are many reasons why support from some programs are that way.....

*Cost cutting measures which usually means the experienced and higher paid are dropped.
*Hiring of those to start with that are not qualified or just do not give a shit to begin with.
*Lack of communication between the reps and those in charge. (Blame could be on either party or both on this one)
*Having those that were hired for other jobs also filling these type positions simply because they are "there" already.
*In reverse of the one above, having affiliate support doing things not directly related to that area so that their time is limited to actually do what they were meant to do to begin with.

Times like these are when the "weeding out" is in full force. Unfortunately, some "good plants" sometimes get removed along with those "weeds" imho.

There are still some good ones out there but in general, I'm willing to bet that the self sufficient affiliates are doing better nowadays as most serious webmasters can not afford to try 30 different programs to find the one or two that might actually be of serious help.

Just my thoughts for what they're worth :)
