ways to stream mp4 to iphone
what are people using to stream mp4 files to the iphone, etc.?
thanx. |
Bump for you. This technology is very new, and few people have the right answer. You can't embed, and HTML5 is still in its very raw infant stages. Answers are needed for mobile affiliates.

i used http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/index.html but this is coming from own server.

Hmm. Setup lighthttpd with the h264 module. Just trying to find a profile that will convert the files to mp4 so that they work for iphone, andriod, and some other major phone platforms.

Why not any video converter? Maybe you will need a license for .h264

the later versions of iOS (iphone only), i believe 3 onward support httpstreaming, so all you need to do is upload your vids to your server and link to them in the normal fashion. Older OS you need streaming support like the above. Other handhelds such as blackberrys, psps generally download the file first so no streaming is required.
We use any video converter for MP4, it's a good tool, although finding a common mp4 format for bb, iphone and psp is hard if not impossible! so multiple formats is an option. |

Its not new at all, most good systems have been doing this since the day the iphone came out. Its all about how good you are at Transcoding and how well you know your codecs. Knowing how to manipulate the actual video data will also help you to stream smoother and instantly...as in no waiting for any part of the file to be downloaded first. |
just link to it <a href="video.mp4"><img src="thumb.jpg" /></a>

Long time no chat.
I have a solution for you, I don't know all the tech details, but let's catch up and I'll give you a rundown of how we do it. You going to Miami? |
