Project/Task mgmt software recommendations??

looking for a nice interface or software to manage daily/monthly tasks of approx 7-10 people for exisiting projects and new development.

would be ideal to cater to small tasks, large projects, brainstorming, deadlines, goals, milestones, collaboration etc.

In the past i have used basecamp/grouphub, pivotaltracker and cohuman

just signed up to hitask and attask....

anyone have a gem that works for their team?

Topbuxom Lea 07-26-2010 12:01 PM

we use tasksquid

seemed to work ok for our department tasks/projects.

I use this and it does the job quite nicely.

No fees and you can install it on your server, so your data and project info isn't tied to some other company.

Over the years I have tried plenty of different scripts/systems, but never found any I liked enough to use over custom code.

Microsoft Exchange for it's calendar and task handling, Microsoft Sharepoint for all files, documents and projects.

If you don't have a Microsoft based server, you can rent them as hosted services, and it's quite cheap too. Google around or start here: http://www.myhostedsolution.com/

Used BaseCamp for a couple of years however switched over to

http://www.deskaway.com/

about a year ago. It's less expensive and has more of the features we need.

Great piece of software.

Nah. I like cupcakes and donuts. But they're not required.

Hey Terron, we use the hell out of JIRA. It's great for issue tracking, and there are a ton of great extensions (like GreenHopper, for example, which turns JIRA into the premier tracking tool for agile dev).

We use JIRA as well... it's pretty flexible and we've customized the hell out of it.
