Face Your Fears: What Are They?
My wife & I were discussing this last night because of some random thing that caught our ears on tv. So the question is: What is your worst fear? We both gave it thought and finally agreed on the same thing:
#1: One of us becoming deathly ill or not coming home at all because of a car crash or something else equally as horrible. Aside from this, I don't believe there is much I can't handle. But that seemed kind of obvious and non-fun, so let's hear the next 4 in line. #2: Being falsely accused of something, in any country, and having to defend against it with a 50/50 possible outcome of prison. I'm reasonably sure I'd take myself out before I'd spend life in the slam. #3: Becoming paralyzed. I'd rather be dead. #4: Becoming deaf. I'd go insane. #5: Bad things happening to my kids. This falls in at #5 because my kids are grown now. My stress over them has greatly decreased with their being old enough to take care of themselves. So let's hear it. What gives you nightmares? :rasta |
Crashing my car into water, and not being able to get out. Having to have a panic attack for how ever long it takes for my car to fill up and knowing I am going to die.....scares the shit out of me!!

My biggest fear is to start opening up on an adult webmaster board...

My fear is that people communicate with deadly signs.
They yell death threats as a joke. |
Eva and I both faced number one in the last two years. We both dodged the bullet.
Would put something happening to our daughter as the next. |

Wow, I must be the most ambivalent fucker on the face of the planet, because none of the above would be on my list of official fears I have. I suppose it's that life is going to be what it's going to be in those regards. Of course life is what you make it, but the term "shit happens" also applies whether we like it or not. Fearing it or worrying about it isn't going to stop said "shit" from happening, so I'm simply not going to waste my time doing it.
I figure life is in many ways out of your control. It's like sitting around a poker table waiting for your cards. Do I sit there worrying about whether I'll get dealt a shitty hand? No, because you can still find a way to enjoy some 'win' even with the shittiest of hands. Same with life, things are going along great for you and then BAM, you get dealt a shitty hand. Big whoop, you pick yourself up, look around, and figure out how to make the best of it. But if it's death? Whatever. Death is going to be what it's going to be, for all of us. I see no point in worrying about or fearing something that is inevitably going to catch up to all of us. Doesn't mean I wouldn't try to find my way out of a sinking car or dig my way out of an avalanche, etc. It just means that I'm not about to waste a second of my life worrying about when and how it will get me. However, spiders tend to creep me out a bit. And bats. Bats give me the willies. |
My biggest fear is that doctors keep blaming my problems on my Crohn's Disease and that there is something far more serious brewing that they are not catching.
Like the surgery I had a few weeks ago was supposed to fix everything and I felt good for a few days after and am right back to square one. |
