Real question...how much have sales dropped for you veterans out there?

I am divided between being hard headed go getter, spend money to make money vs. sales are slowing guy.

Curious to see what other webmasters are going through.

I am looking for ideas and opinions- are tube sites the future or???

Some up, some down. Each month it's like a guessing game.

Clip stores will be off the chain one month, the following month pay sites, the next celeb. So one will spike, the other becomes erratic at best, even though I do not do anything different. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to the swings I am seeing.

Its funny, but when I look at statsremote, my sales in the past year are my best since I started in 2001.

sales are all over the place for me too.... But overall better than last year actually.

Sales dropped 32.31% and will go down every day, new tubes + old tubes = sales down

The World at large is a highly unstable place at the moment. Perhaps it always was/is but lately it just seems all out of whack. Economy, summer, new cc regs, no more x sells/cross-sells, no more over-the-limit charging, free porn, on and on it goes.....

50% drop in gross revenue from 2008 through 2010 annualized.

For me its been like an easter egg hunt where the friggin bunny hides the eggs in new and different places each day.

That said however, while total sales are down, ratios are better than they have ever been. I just can't seen to find enough of the targeted traffic.

So I'm testing everything I know how to do & working far more hours than ever. Eventually we'll figure it out.

I just have the one site. My average weekly income from it is up 80% on the start of the year.

I think a lot of webmasters have a tendency to be constantly looking for some kind of magic bullet that would quickly boost their sales (or halt a decline) and I was one of them for a long time.

Then I heard an interview with someone involved with the British Olympic cycling team. Their performance in Beijing was a massive improvement on the previous Olympics and this guy said that rather than look for a magic bullet they just tweaked a thousand things and all those tweaks added up to the big performance gain. I've adopted that philosophy for my site and it's brought results.

Sales have dropped to zero for the moment, BUT.... no, that's all.

Ratios last year were worse for me than this year. In looking at my ccbill stats I am still under 1:1,000 for the month. However most of the promotion I do with ccbill sponsors is fetish related. The general vanilla stuff has taken a real beating. Especially the big names. Probably in part due to working with (or in some cases owning) the pirate tubes. :2 cents:

My porn sales were down about 60%
Since nov-2009 Im making more money only with Dating and Cams.

I still promote porn of course, but like my second option. I try to use my seo pages and blogs to sell porn but to be honest the real use is to catch the visitor and try to sell dating or cams.
