Sponsor Programs That Have Not Or Are Not Paying Webmasters ? Please List Them In This Thread

I’m working on developing a site that lists all the programs that have not paid webmasters and have gone out of business. I get several clients daily asking me what sponsors are legit and will pay on time if they send traffic. With so many companies closing the doors daily with no warning, it’s hard for me to keep up with them all. I’m seeing too many people getting fucked over and we need a site that shows all the payment activity of the adult sponsors accepting traffic without payment to the webmaster. I will set it up as a webmaster submitted site so everyone can have their own input on the situation while keeping it organized. I would like the people owed money to post in this thread with a simple reply in the format below please. Every penny owed from sponsors is your hard earned money.

Sponsor Name -
Amount Owed -
Last Payment Received -
Last Contact With Sponsor –

This business still has plenty of legit sponsors that will pay you for your hard work. I will also have a section for those sponsors as well. The top companies will have their own “Hall Of Fame Section” :winkwink:
For now I’m just looking for the misfits of adult.

I think the general premise is good, but I would almost rather see a list of sponsors that is paying. This way you also help give those sponsors a boost and a thank you for staying honest.

Left side of the site will be the misfits, right side will be the sponsors in that niche that pay. Display the bad refer the good.

I think the reason this is not done by GFY, and other places in the industry, is because of the legal ramifications and risks of being sued.

It's the risk of losing advertisers

By sponsors with no money? It's user submitted by people owed money. It's a site that educates webmasters on where to send their hard earned traffic.

Honestly?
I'm sick to death of people revealing our business over and over and over to surfers.

You know, when I started in the mid 90's, a surfer had no idea how our business works.

The selling point of a TGP was that I was a good guy who had found a bunch of porn on the internet and collected some pictures and linked to the site so they could join too.

10 years later, blogs came around. And the selling point was supposed to be that I am a good guy who found some great porn and I'm writing telling you about it and linking to it.

And Review sites are supposed to be like Consumer Reports and are good guys who have took the time to buy memberships at all these sites so they could review them and give you a link to the sites.

But I'll be damned if everybody and their brother hasn't spent the last few years breaking every rule of marketing. Complete websites dedicated to explaining all about affiliate programs and who is "bad" and who is "good"

We are the ONLY industry that I am aware of that is that damn stupid.

I don't see a car salesman forum that is open to the public (no password protection and no checking peoples credentials) that explains every trick of the trade and sales technique that they use on a daily basis. That would be suicide.

And you can replace "car salesman" with every business out there. NOBODY is dumb enough to take their CLOSED business and open it up and reveal the little man behind the curtain. EXCEPT all the newb's who got into this game over the last 7 to 8 years.

I'm sorry, but it just gets on my last nerve.

Please Zuzana...if you put up such a list, keep it confidential and put a user/pass on it and only show it to your clients.
Times are hard enough on the entire affiliate model as it is.

It's pretty obvious that the final nails have long been driven into it's coffin. But now with sites like daizzys and also review sites now listing the damn affiliate program beside the paysites...it feels like people are pissing on the grave of it as well.

First Zuzana: 'Misfits of Porn' is GOLDEN. Register that NOW. :)
Second, Guys like Daizzzy and SignBucksDaily are already trying to do this so I don't know why you'd want the headaches/hassles (as good intentioned as they are)
Third: Robbie, switch to decaf man. It's summertime, chill. Programs have had 'resource pages' forever (tho I know what you mean).
Fourth: I would seperate CCBill and Epoch Sponsers from the NATS Sponsers, to keep things clearer for the affiliates.

Good luck!!

@Robbie. But thank god they did or I would have not known where to start. Now Im making myself and sponsors some nice money. But it is a double edge sword.

I know what you're saying...but how about starting like we did back in the day? You know, trial and error is a part of learning the business and getting better at it by a more thorough experience in it.

I'm not attacking Zuzana by the way. I'm just saying...

If there is one silver lining in the declining affiliate model it is that a lot of programs are starting to stop webmaster referrals. I've never been a fan of them ever. In my humble opinion putting a "Webmasters Make $" in huge fonts on a paysite is lunacy. And over time it hurt this business.

So maybe now that nobody has any REAL traffic numbers (unless they are named "Pornhub") like we used to have...maybe paysite owners will see the complete waste of money that webmaster referrals are.

Hell, I NEVER used them. I always surfed sites that I respected myself. I looked at what they were promoting. Then I surfed those tours. Then I wrote the owners. And I would meet the owners at conventions. I currently have over 500 programs in my stats remote.

In my opinion that is the best way to decide who you are going to promote. And if someone like Zuzana wanted to make a list that you had to get a user/pass from her to access that listed a bunch of good sponsors, I see no problem with that at all.

I just think that putting stuff out there for the world to see is the complete antithesis of good marketing. And I don't care if there "have always been" "resource" pages or not.

These days surfers are a lot sneakier and dishonest. (just look at pornbb dot org for proof)
And they search out all this info. Hell, lots of them used to try and join as an "affiliate" just to get content. They don't bother with that anymore thanks to piracy. :(

Anyway, even though things are really bad...it's still never too late to practice good marketing strategies.

I'm thinking of taking www.npyd.com and making it

Not Paying Your Debt -- For webmasters only

The Porn Nerd 07-13-2010 05:46 PM

Times change, new generations take over. When I think of a band releasing an 'album' I catch myself and go, 'No, CD. They released a C-D." No wait - download an MP3, right right....

"Kids today" are raised on this shit, are way ahead of anyone over 30, and will never buy porn on the levels older buyers have, and will until they can't jerk it no more. heh

So MY hope is that by the time all you old fart Baby Boomers die off, I'LL have made enough bank off your sperm-a-holic tendencies to retire. Thumbs UP!
