Who's fault is this?
I got this from a sponsor yesterday and I really don't know what to do. They're one of my main sponsors. It's not MY fault that their sites don't retain. What should I do?
"Guys at billing told me there's a little issue with your traffic, apparently the thing is that you make a lot of sales but only trials. As none of those trials are actually converting into monthly subscriptions XXXXX is losing money. Would you mind switching your linkcodes to 60% revshare until we can find a better solution for this issue?" I can almost smell the shave machine firing up already. :disgust |
drop them. what you going to get? fifty cents per sale?
Exactly... why even give it another thought
Well because like I said they are one of my fave sponsors and I make a lot of money with them. I hate trying out new sponsors to find one that actually works. Plus the little issue of changing hundreds of link codes.
Oh well. I'll figure something out. Thanks for your feedback. |

i think its funny they blame your traffic. if they sign up to a trial, its the sponsors job to convert it unless you use misleading advertising offering something the sponsor doesn't have..
Well, I do value that they tried to contact you, to reach a solution.
But I guess I agree with Matt and Agent 488, I'd drop them. :( |
Ask them to make a better membersection so the sales you make, stays for more than 5 seconds
I agree with what the others have said here. Drop them.
maybe it's just fault of member area that is not big quality
Yeah members area probably sucks big time...
yes "a little issue with your traffic" complete bollocks. if they sign up, its the sponsors job to convert.
drop em like a turd. |
adapt or die
This is an early warning sign for you. You need to lose them before they rip you completely. Blaming your traffic because it doesn't rebill or move out of the trial to membership is desperation. Companies are dropping like flies around here. Closing out affiliates and generally just ripping webmasters off. This company is probably one of the next ones to crash.
Drop them. Im sure they are making money off the cross sales no?
Paying per signup is a hard thing to do. There is no reason for a sponsor to give you free money if your sales are not meeting their average retention.
Programs set their PPS rates based on their average earnings per member, and if you fall below that it is expected that they will switch you to revshare. Hell, it should be in the terms and conditions when you sign up. The entitlement in this thread is alarming :Oh crap |

When I told them that I wasn't going to change to revshare they said they would "handle it in another way".....meaning I think they're gonna shave the crap out of my sales.
create a new account. grab pps links codes. swap links.

Times are tough, but it is not your job to retain the members.
I would let them know that and tell them to fix their members areas to keep members happy. Also let them know that if they switch your account they will not make anything on you at all. Because you will switch sponsors. |
