why tell fibs how well your site converts?
 

why say "our site converts like crazy"?

i mean we are not stupid, we know its hard to get sales, and even if your site is hot its not going to convert 1:20 is it. so why say it is.

for me the most important thing is how long customers stay. i mean so what if it does not convert well, but if customers re-bill for months then thats cool.

i have found a lot of sites do not re-bill.

but stop telling fibs your site converts with ease. it puts me off.

i often promote sites i like the look off. sites i would join.

sales are better than ever.

1000s of people JUST got on the internet for the first time today. 1000s more tomorrow. Your site, the one you described, is brand new and fresh to them. If you can get to them before they find free porn, you can still convert them on that dated site.

Believe it or not, I still have a few sites fit what you described. Now webmasters wont push them because they look old. Their loss. My SEO crushes however and I still covert very well on them for reasons I just explained plus its unique content.

Don't get caught the the hype. Slick designs are for webmasters.

In theory that is true. However you are going to go broke as an affil trying to find those rare new birds. We are trying to help the op make money here. :)

Still you are right tho. Porn buyers are quirky to say the least. You never know until you try something. I am not putting down old tours as content is king, not tour.

But lets say i am selling a gf site. It must be up to snuff I feel or you will not compete esp in the general mainstream niches.

But yes there are two sides to every coin esp in this biz. And you wont know until you flip (try) it.

Still I think paysites need to be fairly slick today and at least 1200 width res. Covers still sell magazines.

I will not rule out old tours. I am sure what you say is true.. in some cases. It is just finding them cases.

I keep saying this to people but they can't seem to understand anybody not having had the internet before :Oh crap even things that we have all seen a million times and think are stale are new and interesting to them.

I agree too. Paul Markham and others seem to think the market for online porn (or anything else) is finite. I keep trying to explain it is expanding massively every day.

I get people sending me shit that I saw 6-9 months prior and they're like "how the hell have you seen that before?!"

The internet goes in cycles.

The people that work in web or use it for work see shit first.
Then the message boards get to it
Then people with desk jobs that don't really work
Then people who only use stuff like facebook
Then the email forwarders
Then those people print it out and show their grandkids, who have already seen it.

Then a year later, some retard on a message board sees it again, but doesn't remember, creating the almighty REPOST.
