Thinking abotu buying $20k worth of BP stocks tomorrow..

Would it be naive to assume that if the current fix is a success the stock will take a 10-15% jump up?

I don't know if I would take stock advice from people on GFY. Especially for a $20k investment.

the only stock advice this board is good for is McDonald's

Same as any other sort of gambling - don't throw at it more than you can afford to lose.

Take a chance why not. It's only money. You have to be in it to win it!

seeandsee 07-11-2010 07:30 AM

Get 10% in year, and you are on horse!

cherrylula 07-11-2010 07:34 AM

I'll tell you what, that cleanup going on right now, the BP people are telling everyone 5-7 years. That's a lot of $$$, so you might want to think about that. lol

There is oil 8 inches thick in the marshes down here, and the well is STILL leaking.

It is worse than any news can imagine, from my husband's own eyes out there.

cherrylula 07-11-2010 07:43 AM

oh yeah, and the lawsuits are just starting to roll in lol... from someone who lives a few miles from the oil right now, this is a worse disaster than hurricane katrina. The entire seafood industry is done. The rest of the world has no idea.... GENERATIONS of people living down here are fucked in their way of life. It is going to be 30 years before they can fish again, possibly not even in my lifetime. :(

there is oil in Lake Ponchartrain, and the damage this oil does has yet to even really be felt. There are probably thousands of people down here working cleanup already, gotta give it up to BP for that, but seriously the work they are doing is barely making a dent in the millions and millions of gallons of oil. It is death. It has ruined this entire region.

biskoppen 07-15-2010 01:03 PM

I was right! :) As soon as the news came out about the success the stock went up 7% or so..

Good advice :thumbsup

mgtarheels 07-15-2010 01:06 PM

I wouldn't.

BP is on the verge of a corporate shakeup, because of the cash issues arising from this. I'd wait.

idtapdat 07-15-2010 01:08 PM

good luck on that dice roll

That one crazy dude with the dumb tattoos was saying this a while ago and it looks like he rode out to what may be a big money maker. I think people were LOLing him but he was right.

woj 07-15-2010 02:29 PM

so did you ended up buying 20k worth like you planned?

pornguy 07-15-2010 02:31 PM

Looks like it closed up 7.5 % today. I was thinking about a 10k drop in as well but not so sure now.

It will continue going up, it's still miles away from where it used to be at 60+/share... you kinda missed the boat for the quick and easy profit, but you can still score 25%+ (40/share -> 50/share) return over the next 12 months...

Good for you. Sometimes, when you think too long about things, it just passes by. :2 cents:

Good luck with making a nice investment.
