Any Squash Players On GFY?
 

I just started playing squash again, I used to play a little when i was younger but not really competitively. I ended up playing against some fat dude today in his 40's (must have been 260 pounds and 5 foot 9). He DESTROYED ME!!! :(

I could'nt believe it, i'm not in jersey shore shape or anything LOL! but i can easily run 10k and i play hockey pretty competitively in the summer/winter and lift a bit of weights.

I thought for sure this guy would be a cakewalk but he just killed me everytime and knew every angle on the court LOL! Oh well never judge a book by it's cover i guess ;-)

Anyone else here play tennis or squash often?

i used to play squash a lot - and yes, if you know how then you will run much less than your opponent ;)

Used to, but only for fun not anything competitive. I can remember some people just seemed to always win with no apparent effort though.

And I bet the guy didn't run much but you where all over the court ;-)

Similar, longer racquets, smaller harder ball...

Yeah everytime i hit it, he knew exactly where to go on the court LOL! I was killing myself and he was just standing there haha

welcome to the world of racket sports.
I play local, state & national tennis leagues and when I see an out of shape guy on the other side of the net I know it's going to be all about placement & not fitness.

Play a lot of Squash, and its true that if your shots are well placed you end up running a lot less than your opponent. Its generally about dominating the center of the court... if you do you can usually make it to just about any shot your opponent makes especially if you keep him/her off balance.

I want to start playing tennis again and maybe some squash too but haven't people who like sports as much as me :D

Used to play some years ago.
I like it and i like its adrenaline and powerful sense of competition squash gave me.
But i don't like some people around this sport, too selfish for me.

Played it growing up in England but not since then.

Played squash on many courst over the world. Fanciest place was probably the Yale University Gymnasium, 7 floors high, the world's second largest gymnasium hyper modern on the inside but built like a church on the outside with ornaments and all, to fool the donor, an old, dying lady who never got to see the inside.

Anyways, they had very classy squash courts. Always fun to play, but if the court is good it sure makes it extra!
