Has Anyone Here Ever Tried McDonalds Sweet Tea?

What the fuck?!

It is absolutely DISGUSTING!

It's like high fructose syrup mixed with food coloring - there is not even a hint of tea to the whole mix!

Took a sip, spit it out, and dumped the cup! GROSS!

The cup itself is interesting however... made of Styrofoam, like a cooler.

The contents however, should not be offered for consumption. :2 cents:

IllTestYourGirls 07-08-2010 04:10 PM

I did the same thing. I love sweet tea but the McD's sweet tea tasted like sweaty ass. I dumped it out and asked for something else.

HomerSimpson 07-08-2010 04:15 PM

McD drinks are all shitty...

I went through the drive-through, so I wasn't going to wait in line a 2nd time for a 99 cent exchange.

They are literally peddling pure shit!

CaptainHowdy 07-08-2010 04:17 PM

That sounds like an awful idea...

Dead 07-08-2010 04:18 PM

My teeth hurt!

Deej 07-08-2010 04:24 PM

If and when i go there I get UN sweetened tea... Its not that bad although i dont like the taste the cups give it after 5 minutes...

I agree the sweet version is absolutely digusting...

Jon Oso 07-08-2010 04:44 PM

L-Pink 07-08-2010 04:47 PM

Hint; go to McDonalds when you don't want bad food not when you want good food.

docputer 07-08-2010 04:58 PM

A couple years back their sweet tea in the south was Lipton brewed tea with a fuckton of sugar added. I haven't had it since then, don't really eat McD's

PastorSinAlot 07-08-2010 05:02 PM

taste ok to me
But I dont fuck with Mac D much , only when my son wants there fries

BFT3K 07-09-2010 12:58 PM

I think there must have been a bet going on behind the scenes.

Fred in marketing bet Joe in development, that with a big enough advertising budget, Mickey Dees could convince people to drink straight sewer water, and sell millions of gallons of it to boot!

Fred obviously won the bet...

BestXXXPorn 07-09-2010 01:01 PM

I used to drink it when I lived in MA because it was literally the only place I could find that actually HAD sweet tea... yeah it sucks but it was better than nothing :(

For fast food, I find Chick-fil-a, or however you spell it, has the best sweet tea, and freakin' huge cups :P

2012 07-09-2010 01:10 PM

sounds delicious

I respectfully disagree - Nothing is, in fact, better.

brassmonkey 07-09-2010 01:21 PM

i brew my shit

atom 07-09-2010 01:47 PM

I make sun tea. The secret if you are in a hurry there and want some cheap tea is to tell them to mix half sweet and half unsweet. Much better

My Grand Mom always made killer sweet tea and I can't imagine any business trying to copy good ole southern sweet tea especially McDonalds.

I have even tried it at some restaurants and it was horrific.

Good sweet tea is the bomb :thumbsup

ottopottomouse 07-09-2010 01:54 PM

Is it hot tea full of sugar or iced tea?

Sweet Tea is generally brewed and sugar is added while it's still hot/warm so it completely dissolves. Then it's chilled before ice is added and served :)

tea and crumpets :1orglaugh sprinkled with a spot of crack

BV 07-09-2010 01:59 PM

FYI: You have to be in the Deep South to get good sweet tea.

Tastes fine down here. I used to drink it all the time until I gained 30 lbs. :-(

No more sweet tea for me :-(

beerptrol 07-09-2010 02:19 PM

You;re gonna love it! It's addicting ;)

If you are interested, I have another recipe for a sweet tea.

Boil water
toss in 6 or 7 lipton tea bags
and a bundle of mint from the store...let it steep for a while
fill one gallon jar half way with ice
squeeze 6 limes in
ad 1 cup of sugar
and pour tea over the ice

This stuff is killer
it was given to me by a good friend ;)

Sounds like sweet tea to me

BFT3K 07-09-2010 02:27 PM

I'm not even sure why I ordered it to begin with.

Truth is, I don't even like "good" sweet tea, let alone McDonalds!

Unsweetened tea with lots of ice and plenty of fresh lemon wedges is the only way to go.

I guess I thought that was what I was in for, but I was way wrong!

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zqDlwkrnm5...weet-tea-1.jpg

BTW: They don't add ANY lemon wedges at all - that's just the way they advertise it.

Am I allowed to add alcohol? It's sounding fairly close to what Pimms is like.

beerptrol 07-09-2010 02:33 PM

25% alcohol based on gin. mixed with lemonade to drink and also people chuck fruit and mint and things in too.

because of the dilution you can drink it till it's coming out of your ears without actually getting drunk and gobby :)

La_Sexorcist 07-09-2010 03:27 PM

McDonalds makes my insides burn. Their hot fudge sundaes rock though.

nikki's got a girlfriend! hehehe :1orglaugh

candyflip 07-09-2010 07:35 PM

It's fresh brewed sweet tea at all the ones here in NY, no mix or shit like that. I've seen them making it with hot water and tea bags.

That said, it is generally very sweet, so I have them mix 1/2 and 1/2 with the unsweetened tea.

And you have to ask for the lemon...they have 'em, you just have to ask :winkwink:

I love McDonald's icecream but nothing else. Too much salt, to much oil, too much sugar, too much everything :Oh crap

SuzzyQ 07-10-2010 08:15 AM

All McDonalds is for is to clean yourself out
