datahosters is down
All my sites with datahosters were down for 3 hours and are still down. I emailed the support of datahosters and they said they are having some network problems and it will be fixed IN A FEW HOURS. That is just great. Anyone else has been affected by this?
|
I was ready to go with datahosters...not anymore
|
That sucks!
|
I don't this datahosters are having problems.
I have been told that verio is updating something and they are causing this. Anyone knows more about this? |
I beleive all the verio hosting companies are affeced by this.
Am I correct? |
funny. My sites on datahosters seem faster than ever..

huh... the verio host i'm on is up, up, up, verio and all.
datahosters seems to be reachable via verio, too. what's your website? |
Well it is not very funny to me.
I have around 500k dialy traffic on datahoster's servers and all this traffic is going down the drain |
Like Whoa!
|
I got a lot of sites, but try this site.
rareporn.net Does it load for you? |

well, your server is up.. can get to its ssh thingy. one guess i have is that *maybe* it crashed and they reinstalled it (that would take time) and they're not yet to the point where apache can be started.
the other guess is that apache is just stopped/dead. if that's the case, log in to your server (via ssh) and run 'apachectl start' as root, if you have root. (might be other things... but these are just initial guesses). |
They said they will stopp apache to investigate the problem, but it has been like 3 hours since they said it and nothing is working still

This is the scoop from Toker..
Certain racks in the "sterling datacenter" are very slow right now this is a fault of Verio not Datahosters. The problem is that Verio is experiencing latency and needs to upgrade the OC12 Circuits in that facility. Since most of our clients are hosted in that facility some servers "may be affected" but not all of them. They have told us they are not going to upgrade their oc12's until next week on or before Friday. So that is the deadline we are looking at and there is no possible way for us to change it. Anyone who is affected should be aware credits will be issued accordingly. We are not going to stick you with a bill for poor service and we do apologize for this. Its very rare for Verio to have such issues but its no small task to upgrade an entire datacenter. Hope this helps guys. :thumbsup |

heh.. uhh.. so naturally.. they leave the servers up but apache down?
or did they shut down apache on a bunch of servers so that a few of the clients won't suffer from bad latency? i mean, i don't see latency problems in a traceroute to rareporn.net . can't think of another reason why they'd stop apache. hopefully they can respond? |

I don't run absolutepics.net anymore. I ran it for 3-4 days to get it to 100k a day a long time ago, but I don't work on it anymore. It is just sitting there at 50k-70k a day. Why work on it if it already gets stable traffic? Better start new sites and make them big too. And I don't have popup hells or dialer hells. If you don't know anything about me, don't post a false info |
