Sigswap.com - what is the point?
Just had a look at the ******* webiste - can anyone explain why anyone should use it?
By replacing my sig for theirs, for every 100 views of a ******* ad, my ad will be shown 50 times. OR I can just put my ad in my sig, and for every 100 views of my sig, my ad will be shown 100 times. So why use *******? :eek7 |
If it spreads them out among OTHER forums with different users... its not a bad Idea, but 50% kinda sucks.

no fucking clue :?
The only thing I could come up with is the webmasters who's post it appears under might be more prone to click because its in their post that they are perhaps proofreading etc.. |
Yes, it sort of does - But hey, I never have a signature anyways.

Here is the point. You get free impressions and click throughs of your button on boards and threads you don't even post on.
The rules don't say you have to use ******* exclusively. Look at my sig, it has my normal text link signature PLUS I use a table for the one ******* button. ******* gets me about 1000+ more impressions on boards everyday and gets me about 40 signups to my programs daily. The shit works! Don't look at it as losing your current sig, cause if done right, you only get more exposure. :thumbsup |
Its a 1.5:1 ratio, not 50%.
150 views:100 views And the fact that your button will be shown across hundreds of boards while you post on just 1 increases your chances of reaching people you havent done business with before. |
i posted on here the first day ******* showed up here that i thought it was in bad taste. Sigs are allowed on messageboards as a courtesy, i think GFY's is very liberal.
But piggybacking on other people's work/success, using GFY and the other boards to run their advertising business, seems really cheesy to me. Unless they went to Lensman and the other board owners and asked if it was ok with them. |
