With more people than ever on the net and broadband and porn on phones, even with tube sites, I would suggest that we should be seeing an increase in sales.

It seems odd that a few years ago that we got more sales with less people using the net.

Can tube sites be blamed? Well yes. Yes in the fact people know see any content on the net as being free. In the UK some years ago we had (still do) friends reunited. This was £5 a month. Today its free, but more importantly face book is free. Face book almost is a system on its own. Many mobile phones have a dedicated face book set up on it.

But there must be still millions of people who will pay for porn.

My question is where are they?

Are they sucked up by those with huge traffic (such as thehunn), or do surfers go direct to sites now and not bother with top's and so on?

It could be sites such as free ones have the attract the people who will pay for membership.

But was I right?

Years ago I used to say that I could not see why with such as top's you could see so much porn that you did not have to join the site. In fact I see often on solo girl sites the front full of nude pics of her. My question is still this - If you can see free pics of a girl naked, why would you join that site?

If you can see the movie trailer for free why would you pay to watch the movie?

these days if you watch the trailert, you have seen the film as they show the best bits in the trailer.

you need to sell something that is NOT available for free if you want to make money, simple as that.

Actually, all you have to do is find/create/sell porn that people want to see, and there's enough impulse buyers out there to sustain a small company.

there are more porn surfers and more porn webmasters and small slice of the pie to go around. you just need to eat more get a bigger slice

as the Internet population grows, their sophistication of using online resources grows as well. That means, many people are not "stupid" to pay for something they have for free on the every other corner. Hell we all share the same philosophy... if we have it for free, why would we bother and pay for it. Especially if it's something that we DO NOT have to pay for...

So, my assumption is that there will be no good future in this business. Either we should change the logic and rethink the whole business and the way its done again, or just wait and see how it's slowly dying...

I guess more people just look for a quick jerk of their favorite pornstar and they get it on the free tube sites. 5 minute clip is enough. Sure the quality is low but the dont care.

Bullshit... I know a number of programs and affiliates who are had their best month ever last month.

surfers are much more "educated" now than a few years ago. It was easy making sales years ago because most of them had no idea they would be getting total SHIT for their $30. The few good sites back then made a name for themselves and they still have a lot of customers from word of mouth. As webmasters we have a much harder job now convincing the surfer that what we have for sale is what they're looking for. Oh, and blame the tubes... hehe
