You will make more selling a product or service, than trying to make money with 0.0000001 per click... Waste of traffic seriously.. even if you are lucky enough to have lots of it.

Depends on your site and keywords.. here's a hint: launch a personal injury site and buy a bentley in a few months.. if you can start ranking well anyway.
My political blog that I update once every 6 months and probably gets 500 visits/mo does about $30/mo on adsense.. would be way higher if I actually put effort into it.

How much do you get with each click?
The only try I did with adsense was on a celebrity blog that gets 4K unique daily from search engines and with $0.01 to $0.03 per click, you can imagine that it's a waste of traffic, time and money to use adsense to make cents with it.
I switched over to selling ads and being affiliate with a clothing sponsor revshare and already made 400 bucks only from that blog in June. In may I made 5 bucks from adsense, in the whole month.
So yes I can confirm adsense is a waste of traffic, seriously. Of course you have a lot of black hat sucker webmaster, clickjacking adsense and such. Those suckers don't last long anyways.. And I prefer to work 100% whitehat, rather than risking my butt. I take this as a business and do this as a living.

If you making less that $0.08 per click with adsense then your not doing it right. It takes some time to get everything together and eliminating shitty payout sites like webfetti and blast, but I agree with the thread stater if you have mainstream sites or blogs Adsense is still a good money maker.
yeah I did ok with adsense until they banned my ass and kept my money over a link which I had on one of my mainstream sites which was selling swords. knifes and other martial art weapons...I hate google and all it stands for I really wish it would explode into nothing

So, what about you?

Feel free to add me to ICQ and I'll actually look into it further - I just log in, see the stats, and log out.
I've put a couple posts on Digg/reddit, which got it some PR juice and... that's about all the traffic it gets.. 40-50/day. I don't disagree that it's a waste of traffic with a LOT of niches, but for the right niches/keywords/ads being displayed, it's a gold mine.
Adsense is good if you have a text rich site with lots of SE referrals and you're not sure how to monetize it. Otherwise, you'd probably be better off doing something more direct. Don't keep all your eggs in one basket etc...
I have a retirement site with about 35 SE unis/day. Not getting rich but the average click is $1 plus and old people click the interweb thingys more than the younger folks do.

My highest paying adsense click was $2.21. I was fuckin' stoked, yo. More often than not, it's like 10 cents a click. You need a metric fuck ton of clicks to get anywhere
