TopBucks is still sending out over a half million in affiliate payments each month.

We aren't going anywhere. I like to think we overcame the slump with mobile and with the increase in joins we've had over the last year, I can say that if the sky is falling on webmasters, they aren't promoting the right programs.

Other than TB, I can name ten quality programs off the top of my head still paying WMs on time, every time that convert well, update their content and aren't shady.

Most of the programs going under I never touched due to having a bad feeling about them for one reason or another. Then again I've been very hesitant (requiring them to have an outstanding reputation or due to them being the only choice within that niche) to sign up with new sponsors not using third party payout systems since early 2008.

In my opinion it says more about bad programs and shady business practices as well as sponsors (the owners of these programs should be on your blacklist, not just the programs. Take the time to find out who these owners are that are screwing you!) lacking in ethics than it does about the affiliate market itself. There will be some who will try to use the climate to screw affiliates even more though, of course...just like always. An affiliate should be extremely cautious about the type of people they rely on these days more so than ever. :2 cents:

Ratio's are great if you aren't pushing something that everyone else has been pushing since 1996.

Everyone looks for hardcore, but how many people look for "woman smelling each others feet"? Traffic is proportionally lower, but the conversions make up for it.

Every time I see someone launching yet another hardcore paysite, I cringe and die a little bit inside.

In addition we just culled our webmasters down to the top 10% to control how are brand is being landed. We are focused on one on one service with our webmasters and complete satisfaction with our surfers

Seeing numbers like that makes me think of the times when I used to target the site names of the biggest sponsors and get google placements for them.

part is seo part is site template. you can have nice possitions with shitty template so you can see multiple numbers, next thing is target to sites that are updated with new material, not sites updated with releases from 2000. not sure how easy was making money five years back, but today it is not about copy and paste :2 cents: if you dont know how to flip burgers, you cant get job even at mcdonalds :winkwink:

site template is part of my ratio, so its part of my final traffic source. i am getting seo traffic to my site, but if the site will be shit, traffic to sponsor will be lower or none. then, site template is part of traffic source, or am i wrong? :)

Ah, well It is not a direct traffic source but It sure is important to have good site templates, what sites do you do though? Blogs?
