MS scraps its Kin mobile phones after 2 months
 

Another Microsoft failure.....

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Microsoft Corp. (MSFT 23.05, +0.04, +0.17%) said Wednesday that it will shut down its Kin mobile phone effort, which had been unveiled in April. Microsoft said in a statement that it will not ship the Kin in Europe later this year, as had been originally planned, and that it will shift employees focused on the device over to its Windows Phone 7 software team.

rumor has it they only sold 500 phones.

The marketing for this thing was beyond awful.

That commercial where the guy goes to hang out with his Ex Girlfriend and he watches her pump gas. WTF?

Dumb phone and bad reviews/sales.

Exactly my thoughts when I saw those commercials.
