iPhone 4 Death Grip Fix

Alright, for those of you who have the new phone and are loosing signal when holding your phone, I'm pretty sure I've figured out a fix for this. This contacts on the sim card were previously bridging with the frame. I've added some roll on white out to insulate where it was making contact. Perhaps some very thin tape would work as well?

Locate sim

Pull out sim with paper clip

This shows the sim out and you can already see where I have added whiteout. Only add it where the gold contacts are touching the sim tray

Now put it in the tray and install it back in the phone. Seems to get rid of the issue completely. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Ohh and spare this thread of all the anti iphone comments.... haters :winkwink:

ehhh who cares. If it helps some people out than it really doesn't matter.

Was these even confirmed as a possible cause?

Cool if it works but I think I would go for the tape route cause I wonder if putting white out on your sim card would void your waranty

I thought about that and its easily wiped off, tape would probably be better. I just happened to have white out next to me :)

you could remove the sim if it stopped working and say it got lost when you opened it up, then you could get a replacement.

lol i hear ya, but I actually think the manufacturing tolerance of location of electrical contacts is too large. I think this is again, AT&T's mistake. The sim cards are cheaply created hence that some cards this effects and some it doesn't.
