To Joseph Blatter, president of FIFA, and the members of the ?International Board?
Sign up the petition to ask FIFA the introduction of technology and new supports to guarantee a regular game started by La Gazzetta dello Sport:
The game is fair but the recent calls proved that Refs need help to avoid bad calls. http://www.gazzetta.it/appellogazzetta/eng/ As today 25,000 signatures were collected. |
its fine the way it is
|
How is it not fair now?
|
soccer officiating really sucks

Well maybe the word fair is not the right one.... Basically I meant to say that in 2010 it's time that Blatter and his buddies look at the facts and can't deny that certain mistakes ( England- USA-Mexico-Italy) can't be made again. |
wtf now?
no wonder Americans hate soccer.. bunch of whiny little bitches in that sport. ~Ray |

American no longer hate soccer, read the TIME magazine of two weeks ago and you'll be surprise about the numbers around the sport. READ THE ARTICLE |
takes 20 seconds to review it, you have a guy in a booth looking at every goal if it is clear and conclusive then back to the headset in the refs ear and its settled... when they argue calls that wastes far more time than that.. simple solution.
What makes fifa want to avoid this is because they look at the NHL and the NFL how they stop the game for 5 minutes and everyone is standing around with their dick in their hands waiting around like idiots... It does NOT have to be done this way at all.. plus it is much easier to make calls in video from a soccer pitch than trying to find a little puck anyway... |

that's one reason |
it all pans out, just sometimes it takes 44 years :glugglug

The main reason that FIFA hadn't implemented the goal line technology was cost. Installing the technology for every FIFA sanctioned game was determined to be too expensive. After the Germany-England game FIFA said they would revisit the issue.
Personally I think the goal line technology, like what they use in hockey; should definitely be used. I'm still hesitant about using instant replay. There are way to many close calls in soccer (last to touch the ball, where did the ball go out, was it a foul, etc.). There is no doubt in my mind that implementing the use of instant replay would only slow the game down. I have no doubt that it might make the game more accurate, but I'm not sure it would make it as much fun. |
they are likely to change the rule, but only for goal line decisions. The hawkeye technology can be used to determine a goal within half a second, stright to the ref's watch. He makes the call once knowing one way or the other via technology and bingo game continues. No halting of game, no interruption, but accurate decision making based on fact.
Should have been in place for this world cup. Blatter needs to resign, as it's his fault it wasn't there. England game would have been 2-2 heading to half time. I cannot say that England would have won the game, but at 2-2 it's a much different game, and would have clearly finished differently with a tied game changing everything... Same shit for Mexico, but that was offside, and something that they are not going to add technology to help with. Too little, too late. |

The calls in this wc, have been brutal. Games should not be decided by officials, in any sport. :2 cents: |
Fuck Joseph Blatter and his monopoly FIFA big business.
