For Those Who Have Children....
 

You hear a lot of remarks from celebrities, and among normal people on how once they had a child they gave up smoking, stopped being selfish, etc.. Which seems fair to some degree since you have a life in your hands.

Once you started having children, what did you give up or how did your life change?

Once I had my 1st daughter I had to change my rule of never wiping another human's ass for them... :winkwink:

I was about to be a father... that's says it all.

Not so much that I stopped anything but I began to do more soul feeding by listening to music with redeeming qualities, visiting national parks and museums, hanging around amazing people, etc. I just want my daughter to be exposed to the best the world has to offer and I guess her mother and I are along for the ride.

I stopped smoking cigarettes and hardly drink booze anymore. Don't stay up much past 11 pm now. Carry the extra load with the wife. Try to do the things that will keep me living as long as possible to see the boy grow up. Make the effort to spend extra time with the boy.

I gave up going out, parties,gave up being a paramedic firefighter when I got full custody of my boys, I gave up having any real money! It was and is all worth it. When you are a single parent and your kids out of the blue come up and hug and tell you how much they love you it's like being in heaven!~

When my youngest gets around 16 or so I will try to start dating again and start getting a new life like maybe vol firefighter wont be able to get paid for it because of my age at that point of time! *shrugs*

give up too much and you'll probably end up resenting the kid at some point. i don't plan to let life 'die' when i have kids. there is still fun to be had, you just have to be more responsible.

We were in super party mode, every weekend... all the time, people visiting, we were always on the go.

Prob be dead in the street right now if I didn't end up having kids.

Stopped getting into fights, stopped drinking so much, gave up street racing

After kid #3, (that I'm aware of), I stopped fucking. Had to prevent any more humans from being created.

I stopped never worrying about anything and started worrying about small things all day long.
