Trial Memberships, How Many Days, How Much To Charge?

Hey everyone,

Hope you had a Happy New Year. I was wondering what everyone experience with trials is. We charge 2.95 for 3 days. Is it better to go more days or charge more for the trial? I also heard "death by trial" is it better to have no trial at all? Maybe have a small members section that you can upgrade to the premium for more. Let me know what you think. Have a good one.

Thanks,
Mark

I charge trial at 24,95 for 30 days.

Forget trials but what you should have is a no recurring option like $69 for 6 months etc.

Many surfers hate recurring

Screw trials. They suck. If you have a good site that's decently priced, you'll do way better without trials.

And 6 month non recurring memberships are fun til a few people charge them back and you've just given away 6 months of access to your site.

thing is, even with monthly recurring - a member can charge back all 6 previous months he was a member. whether he paid all at once, or monthly...

I will also agree to throw out trial subscriptions..

Might be interesting to try a cheap membership with an upsell if you are wantinng to keep your initial buy in cheap.

Thanks for the input. I heard some sponsors get rid of their trial and still get about the same results. Anyone else experience this?

We also raised prices to from 34.95 to 39.95 and never saw a decline.

I make more money now that I dropped the trial.

It all depends... are all the ppl promoting the site 100% honest about everything inside the site? If not, use a trial. If they are, don't use a trial. People don't seem to chargeback as much if they get a trial, they just cancel, but if they paid for a full month and not everything is like what they are told, they ask for a refund or they chargeback easily. Depends of you are running the site yourself or if you have lots of affiliates, but this is only my experience as an affiliate myself.

Ok some of you guys are very confusing you are saying not to do trials that they are crap but on your very sites you offer trials? Explaination?

Thanks,
Mark
