What concerts are on your must see list?

Meaning acts you haven't seen yet,

For me:

ZZ Top (already missed them twice)

AC DC (usually sold out within 5 minutes)

Van Halen (not sure if they're touring Europe)

Jane's Addiction (hope they won't break up till I see them)

Tina Turner (although she announced retirement already)

Prince (major regret I haven't got to his concert in 3121 in Vegas 2007)

Tom Waits (last European concert in Berlin was sold out within 15 minutes)

Amputate Your Head 06-21-2010 11:52 AM

I would have to say none. They're too loud, too much pushing and shoving, too crowded, too expensive, too much hassle, and the studio recorded versions always sound better. But I'll happily go to any comedy show where we can sit down and enjoy it like civilized people.

Or any outdoor reggae concert where everyone is spread out on the grass and chillin' out. :2 cents:

dyna mo 06-21-2010 11:55 AM

lady gaga august 11th fuckkkkkk yeassssssssssssss!!!!!

BlackCrayon 06-21-2010 11:56 AM

Too many to list so I will just list ones I will see this summer..

Iron Maiden
Rush
Tom Petty
Alice Cooper
Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Dead Weather
Roger Waters (The Wall tour)

I recently saw Hank III after waiting 8 years to see him. It was the most fun I've had at a concert in years despite the pushing punk kids and barfing bikers.

I saw ACDC last year. We had good seats on the floor but the venue sucked for sound.

I could have seen ZZ Top this past Saturday but had to attend a friends birthday party instead :/

2012 06-21-2010 12:00 PM

Boy George reunion tour

The only two I can think of right now are Roger Waters The Wall Tour and the Soundgarden reunion tour.

This is the one thing that really puts me off. I hate people singing even a tiny bit out of tune.

live music is real music. music without mistakes is just robotic. todays music is made so much with computers that it sounds pretty phoney.

I suppose I like electronic music more. Would throw the same amount of money at going to a good club as people spend on going to a concert :Oh crap

LeRoy 06-21-2010 12:34 PM

Roger Waters is on my must see list :)

czarina 06-21-2010 12:39 PM

any concerts by
Jon Bon Jovi or Luis Miguel

I keep beating myself up for not going to see the 3 tenors when they were in my area. Too late now that Pavarotti is gone!

Antonio 06-21-2010 12:40 PM

there's a rock festival starrting tomorrow with Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Rammstein, Manowar, and Alice in Chains

I kinda wanted to go, but got lazy because I live like 4-5 hours drive away

fuzebox 06-21-2010 12:41 PM

ACDC. I'll make it happen even if I have to fly to Milwaukee to see em.

Ah, yeah I am not into electronic music at all so I can see where you are coming from regarding that genre.

GetInSpace 06-21-2010 12:47 PM

Rush!
Stp!

Sometimes I wonder why don't they increase ticket prices? If its being sold out in minutes means you can earn way way more by higher ticket prices. Don't they have basic and smart technique to control thos process "playing" with prices and numbers of tickets being sold at said prices so that they could squeeze the most money out of it?

In many cases they could charge 3 times what they do and still sell out in minutes. It just depends on where they are and what the demand is. Many artists, however, are afraid of being looked down on by their fans and they want all of their fans, no matter how much money they make, to be able to see them live in concert. So they feel it is better for them to keep the ticket prices down a little bit, sell out fast and make everyone happy than to charge two or three times as much, make a few more dollars and piss some people off.

A perfect example of this is Pearl Jam. At the height of their fame they got in a fight with ticketmaster when they found out that ticketmaster was charging upwards of $50 as a "convenience fee" for the premium seats at the pearl jam shows. They ultimately lost the fight, but still had about 8 dates left on the short tour to play. They refunded every dollar to the people who bought the tickets and still played the shows so those shows were free for the ticket holders. The amount of press and fan love the got from that was worth more than they could have ever gotten from a little higher ticket price.

One of the best shows I have ever seen is Tom Waits in Seattle. The guys is a genius.

I wanted to go see him on his last tour, but he wasn't coming anywhere within 1200 miles of me.

justinsain 06-21-2010 05:41 PM

I've been to a lot of concerts over the years but somehow missed a KISS concert.

Wasn't my thing back when they blew up but now I'd like to see them just because I haven't.

The other thing I haven't been to is one of those big DJ shows so I'd like to experience something like Tiesto.

I would drive 4-5 hours to see that! Where are they performing?

I saw them in October and it was a good show. No Ace or Peter but still good. Seeing all the fans in the makeup was pretty cool too.

I hear that, in fact the last tickets I bought me were seats, cause I didn't want an emo dude jumping all over in front of me

I actually checked out some Hank III and love it since I like a lot of the country / southern / blues rock stuff, thanks for the tip!

Soundgarden would be a must too - a way best Seattle band for me personally, their music is just too good to be put into the "grunge" category, and you can hear a lot of Sabbath from their rhytm section

Those that are really good put up a great show with singing in place, but it's not that many bands that would sound live better, usually those that play together forever rock, as for the live factor - for me it's like taking a photo - you got the same thing you saw on the photo but it's never the same

I can see your brand new physique getting majorly raped, strongly supporting that!

I guess I'm not a "club" person, a bar will do better, like I was in TAO in Vegas and everything loud you felt like being in a posh MTV video, all those girls trying way too much to look good, guidos on parade, I left after a bit

The Tenors rock - although I enjoy opera more, it's my last passion and I'm slowly getting into that, visiting the live broadcasts from the NYC Met frequently

Very much, I don't mind paying more for a smaller venue and a smaller tour, but if I see a 50 concert streak in huge arenas where you can't see shit I'd never pay anything over $ 50 - 60

Have probably all his records, including a couple live bootlegs, to see him live is quite an accomplishment, last time he was in Berlin the tickets were $300 a piece

d-null 06-21-2010 11:58 PM

would love to see Marduk live

Exo-Geoffrey 06-22-2010 05:03 AM

I'm going to see Placebo tonight. Should be cool.

Breakestra, this Sunday, with Chali2na and DJ Format. In a venue that holds about 750 people. That is a gig to me.

The only band that was ever on my must see list was Guns & Roses. I had the chance to see them already.

kektex 06-22-2010 07:17 AM

This december I saw AC/DC live in Argentina twice. Incredible show, would love to see them again.

I saw Guns N Roses (actually Axl Rose and friends hehe) this year. Nice show, but it's still not Guns without Slash for me.

I would love to see Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam. Roger Waters too.

I gotta admit Placebo are the only ultimate glam emo bullshit band that I totally loved when they happened at the break of 90's / 00's that androgyne dude just rocks they're like Bowie in the 70's just much darker but they're the only true "emo" shit out there

I'm sure you guys have a major club scene in Britain, not exactly a big club person but I sure enjoyed a few parties where the DJ's actually played their very own creative mixes, and I like old school Chicago Deep house from the 80's

I'd love to see Smashing too but in their cca 1996 original line up, they were in Prague recently and someone told me they sucked
