New Zealand - Recommendations
I just scored two tickets to NZ.:thumbsup
I have never been there and am looking for fun and adventure during my two+ week stay. I have a Lonely Planet guide for all the regular tourist stuff. Tell me what to see and do that is not in the regular tourist guides.:winkwink: What is the best way to travel? What is your experiences with the buses, trains and autos? Inside info appreciated. Thanks, |
if you travel with someone or a group

I was checking the campervan prices and they are running 4,500 to 7,500 NZD for 2-3 weeks. That is a lot of cash.
That is about $3200 to 5500 USD.... |
Hit the vineyards in Marlborough!

Yes, I heard that the vinyards have some wonderful wines.

Car hire is a lot cheaper. I would suggest doing the South island, but depends where you fly into. If its Auckland then train down to wellington, and do the ferry trip down to the top of the South island where you can hire a car (or hire it in wellington and take it down on the ferry).
Heaps of stuff to do on the South island, but make sure you hit Hamner Springs on your way through, and the Glaciers on the west coast, and Queenstown too. Heaps of stuff to do at all those, especially Queenstows where depending on the season has some of the best skiing you can get. :) Oh if you like wine then you HAVE to hit Malborough and Blenheim ... the later has some of the best Sav Blaunc in the world. :) |
