    Video converters (Need Suggestions)

    Hey guys, first, does anyone know what format youtube is converting their video's to? .flv? .mp4?

    I'm developing a non adult site where you can upload videos. Its not really going to be like a tube site, but I'm really open for suggestions for scripts that can do this on the server side.

    I'm open for anything, pay and free. I just need a converter and I thought maybe I would ask some of your guys because I'm really not sure whats out there these days.

      ffmpeg does the job. it's kind of shit but w/e it's FREE

      youtube licenses proprietary codec. it's expensive....don't bother.

      Tube sites lose money.

      I'm totally done with letting people watch shit for free in hopes that 7% of your visitors will click your ads. more like 1% for adult but anyways....well 20% if you do shady ad clickjacking like many ppl do in adult niche.

          Hey neon, I actually just found ffmpeg and I honestly appreciate your input.

          Yeah this is just actually going to be portfolio work for me, but I'll be launching the site for a hobby that i have.

                  the best pay converter is On2 Technologies Flix Pro...its like $200 something though.
                  A good free one is Pavtube Video Converter.
