Well, the average wage around here is maybe $200, and I wouldn't even qualify for those jobs, since I don't speak the language fluently. So I'd end up being a rice farmer for that whopping $150/month.

Considering I spend around $5000/month, I think I should probably stay put with making money online. :-)

ErectMedia 06-17-2010 02:56 PM

currently selling mainstream domains and running mainstream/adult sites and still have a CDL license as I have driven 12+ years so I will keep it renewed.

My offline job would be exactly the same except not offline and not porn.

But what I really want to do is start a pizza parlor. No shit. That's what I want!

I want to find some town somewhere and set up the best pizza parlor that
everybody goes to.

AmeliaG 06-17-2010 03:19 PM

I think it is a mistake to think the affiliate business model is dead. The economy is very bad right now and, if every business, hurting in this down economy, decided that their business model was flawed, we'd have nothing left once the economy rebounds. Which it will because these boom and bust things historically have always cycled.

candyflip 06-17-2010 03:19 PM

I'm opening a cupcake shoppe.

I'd try for photojournalist / war correspondant, or get a gig travelling / climbing.
Still the plan for when I hit the magic figure.

sortie 06-17-2010 03:50 PM

To anyone who is going offline and has "some" money to invest but not a lot :

I have looked at a few things and the winner is :

Subway!

SUBWAY® restaurants
Franchise fee: $12,000
Start-up cost: $69,300 to $191,000
Basic royalty: 8%
Advertising royalty: 3.5%

Given the present state of the economy, I think a person who shops around without
a lot of demands for location can get that start-up cost way way down.

Find a business with coolers/freezer/ice/soda that failed and abandon their equipment.

Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:pimp

Never looked because I assumed the inventory cost was too high for me.

But yeah, in the right place a 7-11 kills a subway.

I also figure that outside of a large city you will have to sell gas to compete as
the gas brings in customers to buy the more profitable stuff.

Doesn't seem financially possible for me and that's the only down side.

Oh YEAH!

Huh!!!

Just pull your cart in front of a night club at 10pm and stay until close.

Sell footlong regular dogs for $4, polish dogs/smoked sausage dogs for $6-$8 dollars.
Add chilli for $1.

Seen that one roll, a totally shit night is still $150 with a good night being $400.

(don't sell any drinks, you're fucking with the club then)

fatfoo 06-17-2010 04:10 PM

I don't know how it is in other places but I know here it is strictly regulated. You have to rent a spot on the street from whoever owns the property, certain areas require licenses, etc. I see the guys with ice cream carts getting busted all the time trying to do that.

babymaker 06-17-2010 07:01 PM

Probably some kind of distibution delivery shit, good money, but lots of headaches and work i did it for along time, it would e fun to get out more tired of being online now esspecially since its all fucking bullshit now, I have no desire or excitement. Just keep thinking what next wont make any money lol :D

onwebcam 06-17-2010 07:14 PM

Been buying up restaurant equipment for awhile now for pennies on the dollar. Selling a few items and buying more. Now have about enough to open up a place and more or less got it all for nothing. But I'm leaning more towards continuing buying and selling. Picking up a box truck this weekend so I can save on freight costs. I'm always buying and selling something. Gotta keep flippin the digits.

Yes, the cart needs permission.

It seemed very welcomed at this one club that closed it's kitchen at 10pm.

It was like the club wanted food to keep customers at the club but
paying for staff to stay on was too high. The hot dog cart cost the club nothing
since they don't own it. Paying to rent some space is cool too if the money is
going to come in.

It's worth paying a decent night club with a lot of passing by foot traffic.
You will sell to people who are not even going to the club, and being in front of
the club like you are part of it gives you "credibility" to make sales.

VHNet 06-17-2010 07:45 PM
