    Unemployment Going Up AGAIN????

U.S. stock futures pared their advance Thursday after the Labor Department reported first-time jobless claims climbed 12,000 to 472,000 last week, dampening cheer over a largely successful Spanish bond auction.

Because last months job numbers were fucked because of the census 95% of the jobs created were government jobs. Census workers all got unemployment forms to fill out after the census was over. So tada! More unemployed that were really already unemployed just not showing up in the "numbers".

Unemployment numbers will likely be going up, as many of the jobs created in the past few months were, indeed, census jobs.

The census jobs were specifically classified as "temporary" and only averaged 8 weeks per worker, so I do not think those workers can collect unemployment benefits based upon the termination of that work, but I could be wrong...

Census takers (enumerators), crew leaders, QAC staff, etc. are temporary federal employees and are not eligible for benefits such as health insurance, sick leave, or disability. However, census workers will be able to file for unemployment insurance after their term of service ends, if they do not find another job.

What about the extensions? That isn't their money. That is money the government is going to get back by increasing unemployment taxes, a lot of businesses are going to get hit pretty hard by that pretty soon, if they already haven't.

And see people rioting on the streets. And stealing from your house.

As Governments cut back on spending to pay off the debts then expect unemployment to go up.

I started working back in the days when we were not importing $billions from China and the rest of the third world. Then jobs were plentiful, crime low and the outlook good.

Look at what you have around you and what you're wearing. Then ask yourself how many banking, retail and technical jobs it takes to mop up the jobs of those who use to make these goods.

I dont know if they can or not. But my girl did the census for fun and she received a letter from the census, along with unemployment filing papers, saying she could try to get it. Of course she didnt try so I dont know.
