half time 0-0

spain controls the game I don't see a reason why they won't put one or two in the net the second half

Sarah_Jayne 06-16-2010 08:10 AM

By now doesn't it just sound like swarming bees to you? I barely even notice it. Maybe your coverage is mixing it differently but I am sure the BBC is trying to make it less noticeable.

UniqueD 06-16-2010 08:18 AM

Watch it on second monitor on mute while listening to music =)

NickB. 06-16-2010 08:23 AM

1 for swiss - 0 spain

Sarah_Jayne 06-16-2010 08:31 AM

Wow, how many shots did they just have there too?

NickB. 06-16-2010 08:59 AM

Scott McD 06-16-2010 08:59 AM

The so called 'big' teams in this World Cup just don't look interested to me.

Defeat for the tournament favourites Spain. Shocking!

Serial Pervert 06-16-2010 09:00 AM

OMFG, i didn't expect that!
germany will win this fuck

Jensen 06-16-2010 09:01 AM

2010-06-16: Spain - Switzerland 0-1

2008-09-10: Switzerland - Luxemburg 1 - 2

soccer can be weird :)

CDSmith 06-16-2010 09:02 AM

This is doubly incredible when you consider Spain has only lost one match in their last 48, PLUS the fact that the Swiss have never beaten Spain in their entire 12 international matches.

But they have now.

Great bloody game. Shots off goalposts, crossbars, the ref did everything for Spain at the end except score for them. 5 minutes of stoppage time? lol. Even a yellow card to the Swiss goalie for time wasting. Spain couldn't buy a goal.

The so-called giants of this tournament aren't looking so giant.

Sarah_Jayne 06-16-2010 09:03 AM

Weirdly, England's match isn't looking that bad a result these days.

xxweekxx 06-16-2010 09:17 AM

Wtf spain.. Wtf

Mefo 06-16-2010 09:18 AM

lol they're reaaallly quiet at the office now here :1orglaugh

xxweekxx 06-16-2010 09:41 AM

seriously spain sucks

Marcus Aurelius 06-16-2010 09:45 AM

anyone remember the odds on this game?

fuck, a lot of people must have lost a ton of money on this one

CDSmith 06-16-2010 09:52 AM

So far, overall I'd have to say GERMANY is the only team that has stepped up and man-handled their opponent to a decisive win in this tournament. Brazil was expected to utterly destroy N Korea and could only manage a tentative 2-1 win. England, France, Italy, Argentina, all looking not as strong as expected so far. And now the European champions Spain losing to the Swiss, which I would have to say is the largest upset of the world cup so far.

Wow, just wow.

Looking forward to seeing what insanity unfolds in the next round of matches.

J. Falcon 06-16-2010 09:56 AM

Spain was my favorite to win it all. Can't believe they blew this.

Poppy 06-16-2010 10:10 AM

Can't believe it, but that is soccer for you. Doesn't matter if you dominate the possession.

xxweekxx 06-16-2010 10:15 AM

yup.. spain sucked ass, and ya only germany handled business..

im tired of all these teams playing only defense.. they just put all their men back and wait for opening. thats why the low ass scoring games.. i miss old soccer when real men played and not camp in their goal

They can still get through, but it is much tougher when you lose the first. History is against them winning it too. No team in the history of the WC has won it, after losing their first match.

i think its that the big teams have added pressure of being expected to win. although considering most of the top players play in the champions league you would expect them to cope with it.

first games of the tournament often throw up some unexpected results though.

germany because they beat up on a slow ass australian team that is full of 30+ year olds? I don't think so... Takes more than one game to win this fucker...

Spain wins its next two, which shouldn't be too much trouble, and they are back in it.

keeps things interesting though, nobody wants to see only the top teams go forward...

rogueteens 06-16-2010 01:29 PM

Some teams are saying that those horns make it hard to hear on the pitch, i wouldnt be suprised if its affecting the teams more than they say. This could account for a very strange first round so far. Teams that should have walked their first match have struggled, teams like England, Brazil, Italy and now Spain.

Jensen 06-16-2010 01:31 PM

Takes 7 games to win it all and some teams are slow starters. Could spell trouble for some to be second in the group though.

kowalsky 06-16-2010 02:25 PM

Bet houses made a fortune today!

A-n-D-r-E-S 06-16-2010 04:39 PM

It was a really good match, hehe I still can't believe Spaing wasn't able to win the game!
